Session I: Welcome to Ubersreik Report

General Summary

Perry, Morathric, and two Imperial citizens set foot in the coach of Ewald Schmeller on their journey to Ubersreik, travelling further eastward, leaving the roadside inn The Ragged Warden behind. Halfway through they came to a temporary halt, stumbling across desecrated and half-eaten corpses of road wardens and one of their horses, whom one of their fellow travelers, one Gunther Tauber commenting that this was likely done by the Beastmen of the woods.
At the start of the evening they arrive in Gotheim, a small farming village, outside of the Red Queen Inn. Perry and Morathric go for an evening stroll outside but fail to catch any fish in the stream outside of town. At the inn, they get themselves a meal - Perry is especially delighted to see the inclusion of onions in his - and some ale before a good night's rest.
When the group arrived at the village of Hugeldal the next day, they found it had been raided and burned to the ground. The locals mentioned brigands without uniform that did not appear to be looking for anything in particular, whom had simply start killing and lighting things on fire. They gathered as many survivors as they could, granted free passage by Ewald.
As they did, however, they were assailed by four zombies. While they managed to defeat them, Gunther Thauber was gravely injured, his arm ripped off, and with his final words he asked Perry to deliver a letter he was carrying to one "Emmannuelle Nacht" in Ubersreik, and to tell "Elfriede" that he's sorry. The group waited for a moment to dig Gunther a grave. With a makeshift pyre, they lit Gunther's body on fire to prevent him from being reanimated as a zombie. After a quick prayer Morr, the group continued onwards to Ubersreik, arriving early in the morning.
At the gate, they were met by guardsman Rudi Klumpunklug who demanded a 'fine' for too many people being within the coach in question. Letting Ewald escort the injured from Hugeldal to the Physician's Guild, Perry and Morathric went to get a drink at the Bridge House Inn first, before seeing about delivering the letter they had been handed (and found to be entirely blank) to Emmanuelle Nacht, whom they learned to be the Imperial Herald of Karl Franz within the Ubersreik Duchy.
After a solid twenty minutes of waiting, the two were allowed inside of the Grauer Palast. Perry, with little knowledge on courtly matters, promptly handed the Imperial Herald the letter in question, offered her a handshake (which she did not accept) and informed her of what happened at Hugeldal and to Gunther Thauber. Handing them both four silver shillings each, she gave them the suggestion of possible future work before having them seen out, recommending them the Red Moon Inn for a tavern to spend their coin in.

Four shillings for both Perry and Morathric.

Ewald Schmeller appreciates the help the Halfling and the High Elf offered him and their general attitude when it came to helping the wounded of Hugeldal.
Rudi Klumpenklug did not appreciate the attitude shown towards him by the newcomers.
The Imperial Herald, Emmanuelle Nacht appreciated Morathric's courtly manners, and Perry's lack of them less so, although she figured his attitude towards people might be useful in the future (or his alleged poison resistance, for that matter).
Gunther Thauber died, a zombie's nails dug into his neck and his arm ripped off. His cremated remains lay in an open grave outside of Hugeldal.
