Significant Events
It Started with a Girl: Asher's journey truly began as a young bard. Performing at a festival in Eldoria, he was swept away by the charms of young female thief, who slipped a piece of contraband onto him. When she abandoned him, and left him to be arrested, he met with a series of bandits and thieves that would drive his career as a rogue further.
Year in Prison: The year he spends in prison becomes a crucible that shapes his character. Witnessing the stark disparity between the treatment of the elite and the common folk awakens a burgeoning sense of justice within him, igniting a spark of rebellion against societal norms.
Garrik's Influence: Meeting Garrik—the rogue who mentors him—becomes a new foundation for Asher’s life. Garrik's lessons in thievery and the ambiguous moralities of the rogue lifestyle teach him to navigate through shadows with purpose. Not only does he learn practical skills, but he also adopts a broader worldview, challenging conventional concepts of right and wrong.
Strained Relationships: Asher's friendship with Elena blossoms as they bond over shared experiences and hardship. She becomes his confidante, helping him to see the value in trust while encouraging his dreams. However, the rivalry with Calista persists, complicating his emotional landscape as past feelings become intertwined with competition. He also has a strained relationship with the Captain of the Guards, Liora Serenthia, who sees great possibilities in the half-elf, but also the darkness within.

Personal history
Asher was born out of wedlock by noble knight Sir Perceval Rofton and elven bard Amina Elentay. The bastard half-elf struggled in his early days, kept by his mother, as she nomadically moved from town to town. As a child, developed a love of playing the lute, as well as a small number of tricks involving slight of hand. When he was 16, he began a journey, traveling from town to town performing, mostly at high festivals, as they were the ones where the ladies were a bit more relaxed.
Gender Identity
Asher identifies as a male, and is quick to use his charms to woo women and to better resolve his current position. Be it a place to sleep, or someone to pay his way, his way with women is an advantage.
Sexuality
Asher is a constant flirt, especially if it will help him out of a bad situation, or secure a bed for the night. He is a heterosexual, but has been known to take a compliment from those who recognize his good looks and charm.
Education
Asher's early education comes from his days as a squire for Sir Perceval. He was given the ability to read and write, as well as mastery of the sword and short weapons. He was also taught strategy.
After his imprisonment, he was taught by Garrik about the ways of the world, and how to use that knowledge to his advantage. How to spot a tell, find a weakness, and how to properly pick a lock. Asher took to his time with Garrik as if he was a squire to a new leader.
Mental Trauma
Disavowed by his father, and imprisoned because of a girl he thought loved him, Asher has some trouble with trusting people, and allowing them inside his inner circle. Once opened up, he will protect them with his life, but once burned, Asher will never let them in again.
Morality & Philosophy
The thrill of the hunt and the capture of that which is not to be captured drive the young man. He has stolen both gold and hearts along the way, and relishes in every conquer. Life is short, and it is his to live.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Asher craves freedom above all else. After his experiences with knighthood and the betrayal he suffered at the hands of Calista, his primary motivation became to forge his own path, devoid of the oppressive trappings of nobility. He aspires to navigate life as an outlaw with a moral code, seeking not just thrills but opportunities to right the wrongs he witnesses in the world. His goals include building a network of trustworthy allies, contrasting the betrayal he's known, and proving to himself—and to others—that he can be both free and honorable.
Social
Contacts & Relations
- Garrik: A father figure and mentor to Asher, Garrik molded him into the rogue he is today. Their bond is built on deep respect, shared experiences, and a commitment to live life on their own terms.
- Elena: Asher’s closest ally and confidante. She is the one person he confides in, sharing his dreams, fears, and ambitions. She grounds him and helps him navigate the tricky waters of his chaotic life with wisdom and insight. Their relationship is one of trust and mutual support, a stark contrast to his past betrayal.
- Calista: Once a romantic interest, now a rival, Calista represents Asher’s past and the cynicism he struggles against. Their interactions are charged with tension; her skills match his, and their mutual history complicates their encounters.
Family Ties
Mother Amina Elentay, elven bard
Sir Preceval Rofton, human knight
Social Aptitude
Charismatic, and full of confidence. Some could see his being pompous, but much of that is used as misdirection.
Mannerisms
When in a con, Asher is bombastic, but very quiet when he needs to be. Chews on his finger when nervous, a tick he developed as a child. He lives for adventure, and thrill that comes with it. Getting out of trouble sometimes as much fun as getting into it.
