Bullseye

Dave Derry (a.k.a. Bullseye)

Dave is a Dwarf in the middle of what could be considered a mid-life crisis. He has been in great shape for his whole life and is still as sharp as a tack. Even though he has been cooped up behind a desk for the last 30 years, he is just as dangerous and capable as any veteran Shadowrunner. Most of the cybernetics Dave has invested in is used to enhance his perception, a skill invaluable working in a pawnshop in the seedy side of Seattle. What he lacks in magic and combat experience, he makes up for in worldly knowledge and a collection of refined skills.

History

He was born on a ranch in the Salish-Shide nation, where he lived with his mother. She died while he was just a boy in a freak livestock accident. Gerald, the owner of the ranch, took him in and treated him like family, much more-so than the other workers on the ranch. Coming of age in the country, Dave learned a lot of skills that would later help him later in life including: native languages, shooting, navigation, and survival. He worked as a farmhand and in the mine while he lived on Derry Ranch until him and Frank, another farmhand, left for Seattle to start a new life. Frank and Dave had very little when they moved to Seattle and spent a lot of time on the street, trying to make a buck by buying and selling nefarious goods that you couldn't find in a store. Eventually they raised enough capital to open their own legitimate pawn shop. Although Dave was smart, he was never one for business so Frank handled much of the day-to-day operations. Dave worked behind the scenes, using his worldly knowledge to determine what was worth buying and selling. His position required him to learn about a variety of historic antiques and black market goods. Dave also understood the importance of accounting and cash consolidation for a business like his and spent years developing a software that could handle leverage automation to reinvent the back office, but he was never able to find a good solution.   After several years of doing great business, eventually bad loans, poor money management, and outdated accounting practices put financial pressure on their shop. Along with larger pawnshops doing their best to squeeze out any competition, their shop went under. Frank was determined to open the shop back up, but Dave was disillusioned.   He was tired of scraping by. Even when the shop was doing well, after all of their expenses Dave never really had the life he dreamed of when he left the Ranch. He remembered the early days, when they were more apt to move "hot" merchandise, how good the money was and how easy it came. Using the skills he developed working at the shop, and dusting off the skills he learned growing up on the ranch, he reached out to some old contacts to start a new career as a shadowrunner. Dave adopted the name Bullseye, in part due to his incredible accurate shot, and in part after the name of a childhood pet he had back on Derry Ranch.
