HYUNDAI EQUUS This flagship of the Hyundai brand, this luxury sedan is entering its seventy-ninth consecutive model year. While that longevity is amazing, it is the fact that the external design of the car hasn’t changed since the first decade of this century that makes it a rigger favourite. Materials science has changed, and while the Equus doesn’t look any different, the body panels are made with modern polymers. The nice thing is the older parts still fit, so riggers can scavenge junk yards for panels to replace ones that might have been somehow damaged. The older metal panels also tend to take a beating better, and they can be repaired. Rust is an issue for some, but most of the pre- ’29 Crash models were made from a non-rusting alloy.
