GMC 442 Chameleon
GMC 442 CHAMELEON
The world of tuner cars is a subculture all its own, and
creating a popular car isn’t about making something
to fit the part, it’s making something that inspires enhancement.
When the GMC 442 hit the market, it was
never advertised as something special. It was the first
of several brilliant moves that lead to the development
of the Chameleon, a stripped-down 442 with a remarkably
large array of aftermarket parts—parts that were all
made by subsidiaries under the same megacorporate
umbrella. For riggers, it’s cheap and can be tweaked for
any niche or set up as cheap transport for those runners
who never seem to have their own wheels.
