Dodge Caravaner
DODGE CARAVANER
Since I’m covering a bunch of other vans, I figured I
might as well drop in my favorite minivan. The Caravaner
is meant to be a family van for suburbanites. The
modern world doesn’t have a whole lot of the required
suburbs to create suburbanites, but that doesn’t keep
middle income families from having one of these in
the arcology garage for those times they want to drive
somewhere (assuming the megacorp will let them go).
The sales volume going to pseudo-suburbanites is not enough to keep a car line afloat, so the Caravaner had to find another market as well: the cargo taxi market. The Caravaner is that boring little bean-shaped van with the obnoxious adverts spamming the airwaves around it while it drives from place to place dropping off cargo and people. It’s spacious enough for trolls, and since it’s intended to haul cargo, and sometimes cargo (and trolls) can weigh a lot, it is seriously overpowered for such a small vehicle.
That extra power could allow for some additional armoring, but no one makes armor kits for the Caravaner that are subtle. There are armored delivery versions of the Caravaner, but they don’t look much like the basic model. The armored model replaces the round bubbly shape with a boxy, angular design and the ability to shrug off anything short of an anti-material rifle.
