Low Draconic

Otherwise known simply as "Common"

This is the common language that all Thinking Species are able to understand. It is considered to be a form of draconic, for it utilizes Brimstone Magic of the mind to facilitate translation. The Blessing of a draconic Patron bestows this gift of speaking and understanding Low Draconic.

Frustratingly, the Blessing of Low Draconic does not include an understanding of High Draconic. Scholars believe this was done intentionally by the dragons to allow them a measure of privacy when discussing sensitive matters. Spiritists, however, argue that High Draconic simply cannot be fully understood by lesser minds. To them ,not learning High Draconic is a blessing in and unto itself, because it protects the people's minds from being overwhelmed by words and thoughts that are simply too grand to be endured.

Due to the widespread use of Low Draconic across all peoples, many cultures have lost their original languages. Some find this lamentable, while others are apathetic to the loss. Even the fae use Low Draconic to communicate, though they are said to find the language frustrating and limiting. They are known to complain that Low Draconic is problematically too precise and hopelessly unpoetic.
