Pure Blood Money

General Summary

The Brackhaven family has been in bed with Humanis since Karl Brackhaven founded the hate group. Their company, Brackhaven Investments funds countless ventures through a dense web of shell companies. Karl's nephew, Kenneth Brackhaven is currently gaining in the polls for president of the UCAS so Gramma Betsy Maplethorne asked the runners if they would infiltrate B.I.'s downtown high rise owned and plant a datatap to monitor where their dark money goes.

Brackhaven Investments' office is located on the 39th floor of the downtown high-rise owned by Monolith Management Group. Through seduction and using his own dumbassery against him, the runners managed to coerce Monolith's Matrix Spider to offer up floor plans and take a break during their mission. They bribed a window washer to leave the window to the less defended NERPS office one floor above unlocked. Their rigger pilot contact, Lancer agreed to airdrop them above where they could rappel down to the window.

After successfully sneaking past Monolith's CorpSec troops and watcher spirits, they made their way to Brackhaven Investment's cubicle labyrinth, hacking their flying rotor-drone cameras. After setting off a trap that left Squid trapped in a glass case, they were set upon by a team of trained (ie: enslaved) naga that had been heavy augmented with deadly cybernetics, turning them into slithering tanks. Commanded by their trainer (ie: slavemaster) Greg Skunkape (pronounced Skoon-cop-ah. It's German or something) they weren't able to even dent the giant cybersnakes, but they did manage to slow them down long enough for their decker, Mina, to connect a DNI into the Brackhaven servers and plant the datatap. Squid was freed before Skunkape activated the knock-out gas. They commed Lancer for an emergency pickup, shattering a window and jumping out into the VTOL drone as the razor-naga fired upon them.

Before MOM was given access to the datatap, Mina went ahead and skimmed through the feed, redirecting a few nuyen her way while also discovering some of Brackhaven Investment's shell companies. Not only does B.I. own Monolith, but Vola found out why her rent was so high as most of her metahuman friendly neighborhood was owned by B.I. The most troubling fact was that B.I. was funding numerous construction projects in the Ork Underground. It would take some time to dig through the data to learn what they may be planning.
