Alvar's Secret

Shapeshifter, there are legends of these giant eagles and the people who ride them. The legend says that the warriors who dies are reborn as these giant eagles or given the power to transform.
This power has been kept hidden due to the fear and suspicion that such abilities can invoke among his people. It takes 1d10 minutes to transform, no equipment transforms with it.

Eagles have exceptional eyesight, which is one of the most powerful in the animal kingdom.

Visual Acuity: Eagles can see up to 4-5 times better than humans. Their vision is so sharp that they can spot a rabbit or a small prey animal from over 2 miles (3.2 km) away. They have a visual acuity of around 20/5, meaning they can see at 20 feet what a human would see at 5 feet.

Binocular Vision: Eagles have binocular vision, which means both eyes can focus on a single object, providing excellent depth perception. This helps them judge distances accurately while diving at high speeds to catch prey.

Field of View: Unlike humans, whose eyes are positioned on the front of the face, eagles' eyes are more on the sides of their heads. Despite this, they have a field of view of around 340 degrees, with a 50-degree overlap that provides sharp, stereoscopic vision.

Color Vision: Eagles can see a wider range of colors than humans, including ultraviolet light. This allows them to detect subtle differences in color patterns that might indicate the presence of prey or the movement of camouflaged animals.

Fovea: Eagles have two foveae (areas in the retina responsible for sharp central vision) per eye, while humans have only one. This gives them the ability to switch focus quickly between different distances and maintain focus on fast-moving objects, which is crucial during hunting.

Overall, an eagle’s eyesight is designed for precision and detail, allowing them to spot prey from great distances and make quick, accurate movements during the hunt.
