Sacrificial Save

Overview:

A character can choose to intercept an attack or source of damage intended for someone else. This is done as a reaction, and always results in the full damage being taken by the interceptor, along with a guaranteed injury.

Trigger:

When a creature within 10 feet of you takes damage from any source (attack, spell, trap, etc.), you may use your reaction to take the damage in their place.

Rules:

You take the full damage, no resistance, reduction, or immunity may apply.

The original target takes no damage or effect from the source.

You must be conscious and able to move (not paralyzed, stunned, or incapacitated).

You must be able to see or sense the incoming threat (My discretion for AoE or unseen attacks).

Injury Consequence:

Each time you use this ability, you suffer a lasting injury. This injury is always moderate or worse, as your body absorbs a blow it wasn’t meant to take.
