Deploy Personal Barrier
1st-level conjuration
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 30 feet
Target: --
Components: S, M (scrap metal and wiring worth at
least 10 gp, which the spell consumes)
Duration: 1 minute
Classes: Artificer
Subclasses:
You configure the scrap metal and wiring used as the material components to create a shield generator and then deploy it onto a creature you can see within range. The creature gains temporary hit points equal to 1d6 + your spellcasting ability modifier. Until the spell ends, at the start of each of the target’s turns, it can choose to gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your spellcasting ability modifier.
Each time the target takes damage from an attack, you must make an Intelligence saving throw with DC equal to 10 or half the amount of damage the target took, whichever is higher. On a failure, the spell ends.
When the spell ends, the target loses any remaining temporary hit points from this spell. The shield generator also falls apart into the material components used to create it, and you can reclaim those material components as an action on your turn while you’re within 5 feet of them.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, for each slot level above 1st, the initial amount of temporary hit points the target gains increases by 1d6 (to a maximum of 5d6 plus your spellcasting ability modifier).
