The Principality of Svartálfheim (s-var t-elf-hi-em)

Demography and Population

The Svartálfar people are split into x great clans from the original Svartálfar who were banished by Her Grace, Hasadiah.
~
The Kisa occupy the capital city of Reran Shaeras, they are the direct descendants of the original Svartálfar who fled Yggdrasil under the leadership of King Beluar Vajeon  The Fuazon are closer to High Elves than Dark Elves but share their fate, forbidden from ever returning to Yggdrasil. They occupy Eshna Dorthore, the city opposite Reran Shaeras, and choose not to associate with them.   The Hikzoh are Svartálfar who live on the outskirts of their country, those who ventured into the Khaos Lands and returned 'changed'. They are ostracized by both Clans and are nomadic in nature, always returning to Svartálfheim eventually.

Territories

Svartálfheim itself is a vast circular country founded around the base of Yggdrasil, split in two by the great river that runs through the lands. On one side of Svartálfheim lies the province of Hynelenor, home of the capital city of Reran Shaeras. Hynelenor is controlled by the Kisa, offspring of the original Dark Elves. On the other side is the province of Lalelume, home of the capital city Eshna Dorthore. Lalelume is ruled by the Fuazon, closer in lineage to High Elves. The outskirts of Svartálfheim are called E'enor and is home to the nomadic Hikzoh, Dark Elves who have ventured into Khaos.

Military

Faran Azula

The Might of Svartálfheim is the Faran Azula, high specialized Mages, and Knights drafted from both the Kisa and Fuazon to fight the forces of Khaos. They stand at the ready in E'enor, ensuring no Daemon or Monster can find its way into their haven. The Faran Azula can also be made up of donated forces from allying kingdoms.

Religion

Religion, and the worship of Gods, is a touchy subjects in these lands. On one hand, the Kisa are atheists through and through, believing their forefathers to have been foolish to trust Hasadiah or the Khaos Gods. They recognize no deity and have faith only in their paganistic ways, idolizing old King Beluar Vajeon and his Dark Moon Knights for the bravery and courage displayed in establishing Svartálfheim.    On the other hand, the Fuazon believe that their sullied blood was expelled for trying to take mercy on the heretical Dark Elves and worship Hasadiah. They believe in diligence and discipline, that only through sacrifice and repentence can they regain the love of Her Grace and be lifted back into Yggdrasil, back to Alphondis, the Home of the High Elves. They call this The Great Return.

Foreign Relations

Svartálfheim is primarily ruled by two clans of Svartálfar, the Kisa, descendants of King Beluar Vajeon, and the Fuazon who are of High Elven descent but share a similar fate. While the Kisa and Fuazon disagree on many things internally, they recognize external threats and formed the Faran Azula, a counseling body that handles foreign threats. The Faran Azula maintain a healthy relationship with a few powerful cities and kingdoms in the Khaos lands if only for useful allies.

Trade & Transport

Svartálfheim makes great use of an impressive rail system that runs safely from itself to officially allied Kingdoms far and wide. Oddly enough, or to no surprise, these trains are usually manned by the Hikzoh, as they make often stops at Hikzoh settlements in the wilds, which may explain the clearance the Faran Azula gives their Clan despite hating them.   These trams are essential for trade and transportation between the kingdoms, moving large amounts of goods and services between both. Svartálfheim has a massive monopoly on Dew from the branches of Yggdrasil, as well as other exotic and Majikally charged resources that can only be gained from living just under the great tree. This is their biggest asset and outside of a few other minor raw goods, is the foundation of their trade economy.    As for imports, they receive a wide variety of processed goods and materials, exotic livestock and plants, and technology.

Education

  • Kisa Children are raised as warriors and engineers and innovators, they are expected to pick a role in society and fulfill it to the best of their abilities.
  • Fuazon Children are tutored to adulthood by their mentor, passing on their knowledge and faith in an attempt to expand the Dslan Vaun, the collective knowledge of their people.
  • Hikzoh Children usually grow up on the nomadic path or on great farms in the Khaos lands, most never actually see their homeland and receive very little education when compared to their kin.

Legislative Body

Faran Onya

The legislative body of Svartálfheim is an old council of elders elected into office by their peers for a set amount of time on rotating terms, known as the Faran Onya. They are made up of nobles from all over Svartálfheim and are deeply respected by both the Kisa and the Fuazon.
Judicial Body

The Tálfar Courts

The Tálfar Courts carry out the will of the Faran Onya but are separated into the Kisarian Tálfar Court and the Fuazonian Tálfar Court, and from there, minor Courts are appointed for smaller regions and cities. The major difference between the two lines of Courts is their interpretation of the Faran Onya, a capital offense in a Kisarian Tálfar Court may be a minor offense in a Fuazonian Tálfar Court, and vice versa.
