Funural / Burial rites in elegy

Lantern ritual The body is cremated and the ashes placed into hundreds of lanterns, which are lit and let go where they raise to the sky and bring the soul to the heavens.   Beads Some get cremated and have the ashes compressed into beads, these can be of varying colors. These can be carried with people or displayed.   Cremated  Most cremations get put into a vase to store or spread the ashes and then shatter the vase symbolising the last tether one has to this world. They are now back part of nature.   Tree burial Some creatures wrap their dead in thin cloth and bury them beneath or inside of a hollowed out tree. This way they can become part of the forest, sometimes this is done at the edge of the forest to help it grow outwards.   Parade. Parade the dead in bright colors that highlighted their virtues.. Red for purity or yellow for knowledge for example). to encourage the souls to reach salvation ending the cycle of reincarnation. The bodies are sprinked with water from a river and cremated.   Water Burial. Coffins atop cliffs facing water/the ocean. Setting a body adrift in a death ship along a river or out into the ocean. Giving the bodies back to the gods or place valued by the people of the area.   Dance with the dead. Every few years the tombs of the dead are opened and the dead are rewrapped in fresh burial clothes. This is done while music is played and dancing is happening all around.   Sky Burial. The body is left out on a raised platform outside for birds to consume so they may carry their souls towards heaven and embracing the circle of life and feeding the animals. Sometimes the body is left whole, and sometimes the body is cut into pieces. The tools used are destroyed to prevent them being tained by the dead (in some cultures)
