Swiftstorm 8th-15th: Giant Birds, Rivers of Ants, and Men of Frogs

General Summary

After spending some time getting their bearings, the Cenobite Council moved inland, exploring the rocky coastline, marshland and cliffs to the south before heading due east. While many birds were prevalent, a distinct lack of larger animals was noted, until a herd of 8 large, blue and black flightless birds was spotted. Shrub, shifting into this newly found bird form, was able to determine that these animals were indeed far dumber than they looked. With little information gathered, the party moved on for the day.
A few days later, after circumventing a massive living river of ants and avoiding a fight between huge centipedes, the party turned south. On the 14th, they spotted a group of 3 Grippli observing a white orchid, digging it up and going to carry it back home. Using the Helm of Language Comprehension, Croaker was able to convey their intent well enough to their leader, Grupp. He agreed to lead them back to the settlement of the Ooa tribe, as he realized the group had nowhere to rest safely.
On the way, a small band of lizardmen and the party surprised each other in the long grasses on the banks of the shallow and slow moving Copper River. Though initially baring their arms and making a show of force, the lizardmen turned and ran at the first harsh word from Mountain Storm. Impressed with their new travelling companions' ability, the Ooa tribespeople camped for the night and promised to lead them safely to their home over the next few days...
