five hundred and twelve years after the conclusion of the great crusade conducted by the force of chaos undivided, the world lies in eternal night. the conqueror: Archeon who brought the old world to its knees, lies dead defeated by the knights of the old path. his forces scatter to the wind, running to the far reaches of the world in small bands of raiders and bandits. the knights, with no enemy to unite them, fall upon their kin in greed and jealousy and the order collapses. the old order has fallen and with it the old world.
