Jarthi, Goddess of Fire Character in Seram | World Anvil

Jarthi, Goddess of Fire (Jarr-thee)

Jarthi, gentle or dangerous.   Jarthi taught man how to keep warm, how the dance of Darin and Naila wasn’t the only thing that could affect their sight and illuminate the way. She allowed them to cook meat that was previously tough on their systems, how to close wounds that bled openly, and how to wage destruction on those who stood in your way.   Her home is in the Volcanoes of Ptema, but they say speaking into any fire or flame can establish communication with the fiery deity. She is the one responsible for eruptions of the volcanoes that have made life in Ptema so unpredictable. Although only 2 of the 7 are active somewhat, they say that when all are dormant, Jarthi will finally slumber. The locals have terraforming Ptema to allow her magma to travel to the ocean and extend the land. The island paradise is presumeably safe due to the locals’ offerings of Firefruit bi-annually.   They say Jarthi is saddened that she is mostly known for destruction, the main reason on her celebration days the locals will thank her for contributions to cooking, forging, and allowing Darin to enter their homes at night through candlelight.
