Corvallian Spheres

The nation of Corval is dominated by humans who have built their own understanding of the spheres of magic, though they have gone through multiple traditions over the centuries. The dominant tradition is built around nine major schools in the capital of Corwal. The spheres are as follows.

• Apotropaic - Protective magic and wards.
• Conjuration - Magic which summons or manifests effects, objects, or creatures from other planes.
• Creation - The creation of material or creatures, or the manipulation or transformation of existing material.
• Divination - Magic which reads the tapestry of fate, or which is used to learn about the world.
• Emission - The creation or manipulation of existing energies which are innately ephemeral.
• Invocation - The use of words of power or invoking the names of beings of power to call on their strength to create specific effects.
• Manology - The study of raw mana and using it directly.
• Physiology - The study of living beings, transformation, healing, and improving the physical form.
• Symbology - The study of magical runes of power, as well as sympathetic magic via symbology.

These spheres are considered more difficult to learn by outsiders, but generally they have an extremely broad application when compared to the spheres used in many other systems.
