Xavier Lycan Character in Semita | World Anvil

Xavier Lycan

Prince of Arcadia Xavier Lycan (a.k.a. Sir Xavier of the Blade (Eques Xavier Gladios))

Xavier is an Eldritch Knight with werewolf blood in his veins. He doesn't express his emotions often, but his actions show that he does care for people. He tends to dress in dark colors, other than his armor, which is silver in color. His preferred weapon is a longsword, but he's able to pick up just about anything to use in combat in a pinch. He is sensitive to very bright lights, and whenever he steps outdoors during the middle of the day he immediately sneezes.   XGE: Heraldic Sign | A phoenix in a ring of fire, an expression of an indomitable spirit. Fighting Style | Brutal. Your attacks rain down like hammer blows, meant to splinter bone or send blood flying.

Personal history

Xavier, born as Estelle 'Lycan' of Arcadia, was born to Iris, the goddess of messages and rainbows, and Lycan, the king of Arcadia, the kingdom cursed with lycanthropy and banished into the Labirynth for his sins in cannibalism and murder of his own son. Iris left Xavier with his father, and he was raised entirely in darkness. Being that his father is animalistic in every way at this point, he was passed around the men in the kingdom and was viciously sexually abused- particularly by his own father. He was raised to not complain, emote, or show any distress whatsoever. On top of this, when Xavier first brought up the idea that he'd be interested to go under a masculine name instead, Lycan completely denied it, shutting it down instantly. He trained himself to fight, both for self defense and because the kingdom valued phsyical strength more than anything else. Because of this he is rather skilled at using improvised weapons. The first weapon he ever received was a dagger, which Tiberius, the royal advisor of Lycan and the sole librarian of the royal library, gave to him when he was seven. It has engravings on it, which is arcane runes that allow him to access the Enclave, a place where Jewish folk call home and where Xavier's son, Jonah, lives away from Arcadia. He still carries it. His heraldic sign (from XGE) is a phoenix in a ring of fire, an expression of an indomitable spirit. His signature style (from XGE) is brutal- his attacks rain down like hammer blows, meant to splinter bone or send blood flying.

Gender Identity

Female to male transgender.

Sexuality

Demisexual panromantic. Open to romance with anyone, but requires a long standing relationship before sleeping together is an option.

Education

His sole education was provided by Tiberius, Lycan's royal advisor and the sole librarian of the Arcadian library. Tiberius is an Observer, a rank in the Enclave only attainable by proving yourself through decades of scholarship. He was assigned to Arcadia after an argument between himself and his father and brother as a sort of 'suicide mission', basically condemning him to an exile.
When Xavier was a small child still going by Estelle, he took her under his wing and taught him almost everything he knows academics wise.
As for his talents with chess, one of the few things that Lycan thought important to teach his 'daughter' was the intricacies of the game. He is proficient with chess, as he and his father would talk politics over a game of chess and coffee as one of the few times that he had his father's time all to himself. He can analyze psychology relatively well based on the moves they make on the board.

Session Zero: The Adventure Begins
The Halfling Imperial Golden Age

Labyrinth Tiberius - The librarian in Arcadia. An old friend. Let me check out a book on Beginner's Guide to spells in combat. Hopefully he understands that I took it with me and won't charge me late fees.   Escaped into Paris after reaching the catacombs and surfacing in the church in the middle of night service. Stayed and listened to the nice music before stepping out and seeing the stars and moon for the first time.   Paris Asked a passerby where I was and was told Paris (pronounced PARE-ee). Bought a baguette and ate it bite by bite. Found a park and appreciated the grass and stars.   Sable - A satyr I met in the park when he stepped over me and began tuning his pan flute. Told me I smelled like demigod and Greece. Walked me through a portal to Athens. Note: be nice to the grass.   Athens Walked around until I found the pantheon, where the cleric performed a ritual that told me Iris was my mother. Sat under her statue, gave her 9 silver, and read Tiberius's book. Asked the cleric where I could find Iris, and was told to look for her shop in the marketplace.   Iris - Owns a shop called "Iris's Wonderous Emporium". Talked to her after she was done taking care of an order. Told her I was her child from Arcadia. Forgave her for leaving me behind. Sent me off with shoes that will take me someplace safe with people who will keep me safe, because Athens is currently dangerous. Tacky and gaudy sandals. Gave me a bag of 10 message stones, and had a good hug before being sent off, with messages to deliver.

Session 13: Of Troy and Deserts

Britain - The holy grail has been tainted with an ancient evil. John Dee requests that Rome leave the lands they're occupying in Britain. In exchange for this they'll provide help on their front line. We will go to Rome in order to discuss things with the Emperor and find the Library of Alexandria in order to find the   Rome - The Emperor will accept the deal if the Queen accepts a binding of the houses between Rome and Britain (marriage between the Emperor and the Queen). If this deal is not met then Rome is threatening to outright invade Britain. John Dee doubts that this deal will be accepted by Her Majesty. Marcus has informed us the Princess of Rome has been kidnapped. We contact her and find out she is on her way to Troy, which used to be part of Roman territory, but is now currently held by The Crescenters (Muslims) and is part of the Emerald Crescent territory. We set out for the deserts, taking Marcus along with us, on Odysseus's ship. It takes us 7 days to make the journey. 2 weeks til the next full moon.   Troy - We arrive in Troy and Quinton's spear spirit tells us he is the most friendly spirit around, and even he doesn't take too kindly to the fact that "once again, a woman being brought to Troy causes problems". As we venture closer to Troy's ruins, two Crescenters with invisibility cloaking ambushed us. Navarra used the vampiric staff to deliver the killing blow on the last one remaining, since she could see them using magic, and turned it into a zombie.   New objective (long term madness)- research enough about necromancy in order to bring about justice to my father, who has wasted so many lives.
