Session #8 Report
General Summary
After their embarrassing encounter with a cow in the middle of the road, and a close call with what serves as the local law enforcement, the party decided to proceed towards the Akamori Homestead where a cart dropped off Daiono to rejoin the party once more before heading inside the Akamori Homestead. Here where they were greeted within the foyer by the Grandmother of the Arcanists, the party saw that they were not the only guests of the evening. It turns out the Guardian Priests they were seeking out had made their way here to the Homestead as well, asking for Natsu Akamori’s support for one of the candidates that would succeed the aging Shiro Kosuke when the inevitable happened. Unenthused by this request, Nastu was happy to discuss what matters his grandchildren brought to him: About the Elementals.
With both the Experts in the Arcane and in the Spiritual at the table, the party was able to gain two perspectives on the events that occurred and what to do about it over dinner. Both explained that the world is connected by streams of magical/spiritual energies in the form of ley lines, that Elementals are a way the planet regulates itself, and that it sounded as if the prisoners in the mine dug too deep and hit one of these leylines. From there they devised a plan to cap this wound in the world by some sort of ritual that the party would oversee the priests do to protect them from whatever may prevent them from their duties.
After dinner, some of the party explored the manor’s trove of information to get answers to other questions that they had on unrelated business before retiring for the night as they considered their next course of action: To travel quickly back to deal with the threat looming in the depths of the Silverhold Mines, or to go north on other adventures to line their pockets first…
