General Physical Condition
Hayato is a lean, mean, knife-wielding killing machine. Given his former profession, it’s shocking how light his scarring is-- what few he has are likely nothing more than from luck strikes from those desperate in their bouts with him in the ring. His age and retirement has him sporting a peppered short haircut that is complemented by a wispy beard that spreads no further than an inch from his face. He finds himself deep within his cups these days, but say the wrong thing and a hint of his former self rises to the surface… a trick that has kept him from a fight since he retired, much to his enjoyment.

As much as he loathes the notion of violence these days, it appears a knife is never so much as an arm’s reach away from the retired gladiator. Such a successful career must make for dangerous enemies, it appears...

Hayato was a legend within Silverport’s underground gladiatorial combat scene, due to his phenomenal speed and skill in knife fighting. So fast was he, that he gained the name ‘The Kamaitachi’ (Or Sickle-weasel) like the yokai, due to his ability to decisively end a fight within a matter of seconds-- with an opponent dead or in fear of dying. He was undefeated in the ring, but retired one day without any warning or explanation.
Like many who could afford it, Hayato used his fortune from his undefeated streak in the ring to buy a plot of land in the countryside and tried his hand at farming-- seeming to seek a peaceful life after his terrible bodycount in the ring. This, unfortunately, didn’t work out. After three years of owning land, his farm mysteriously burned down-- leaving him homeless and without work. And yet he still refused to return to his profession, instead drowning his misfortune in cups of sake at The Befuddled Baku.
