Additional Information

Social Structure

Not much is known about the Basan due to their rarity, their nocturnal lifestyle and their attempted isolation. The few sightings have noted that when pleased or startled, a Basan will beat its wings that creates a distinctive rustling “basabase” sound that is from which they got their name. They are fast and shy creatures, known to quickly vanish when they realize that they have been spotted.
