While holding this magical weapon, you can use a bonus action to press a switch on its hilt, causing the blade to crackle along its length with high-voltage electricity. The electricity sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet. While the weapon is active, it deals an additional 2d8 lightning damage to any target it hits.
A creature who touches the exposed blade of the weapon while it is active takes 1d8 lightning damage and must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or drop the object if it can. If it doesn't drop the object, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of its next turn. (This does not apply when striking a creature with the weapon.)
The electricity lasts until you use a bonus action to press the switch again, or until you sheathe it.
