Mental characteristics

Personal history

Avgift Kopparvingar Dharok was born into the Koppavingar family of the Dharok Clan. Her father, Varg, was an busy man who worked as an overseer for the clan’s production of goods. Her mother, Skydaa, was a well respected blacksmith within the ranks of the army. Her early life was not extremely noteworthy. She grew up in a loving household as many other children did. She received an education as standard of most dwarves, learning Common, Gnomish, and of course Dwarvish. Following in her parents steps she learned the ways of the god King Gorath.   Of course, being a dwarf, Avgift was inclined to pick up some form of craftsmanship. Copying her mother she attempted to learn how to forge the weapons but found herself too weak to ever become skilled at it. Instead she moved on to systems of gears, springs, and wires and after a few decades became quite skilled. At the same time she picked up woodworking, entranced with the idea of creating one of the new Volley Crossbows.   At the age of 100, when dwarves are considered to be mature adults, Avgift began her mandatory military service. Here her sharp eye and swiftness made her perfect as a scout for the army. The oath she would take to defend the kingdom would be one of the things she would hold most dear in her time in the army. Avgift was deployed as a scout to the front with the Drow, fighting in the Underdark’s cave systems. There she encountered the unique fighting styles of the Drow. In a way, she adopted their stratagems and techniques. The use of poison, which was looked down upon by the Dwarves, was used regularly by her. She specifically specialized in the gaseous forms of poisons. Avgift also took the Drow’s hit and run tactics and turned it into something she could use. She spent 23 years in the Underdark. Due to the scarcity of resources and the duration of her missions, Avgift really became self sufficient. She created her own weapons, scavenged for food, and taught herself how to survive in the wild. Her time here would be the happiest of her life, contributing to great victories against the Drow.   Avgift would have stayed in the Underdark had it not been for a tragedy on the other side of the kingdom. Fighting intensified against the Orcs so even reservists and supports were called in to hold the line. Her mother was killed in the resulting battle. After this event, Avgift requested she be placed on the front against the Orcs and drifted further away from her father.   Serving as a scout for the Dwarven army, Avgift would move ahead of the Dwarven formations, reporting Orc locations to be attacked. If she had the option to though, Avgift would take it upon herself to weaken the Orcs through poison. As a harasser who regularly went out by herself to gather information for weeks, even months on end, she was well respected by her comrades. The information she brought often helped the dwarves bring victory or at least saved a few lives.   Still motivated by anger, Avgift wanted to kill as many Orcs as possible. Initially, she started off killing soldiers, enemy scouts and Orcs who strayed too far from their camp. As the war progressed though, Avgift became lax with those she targeted. The sick and wounded were executed from a distance but if the opportunity presented itself, she would slit their throats while they slept. The Orc villages she came across would often have their food stores burned with the air and wells poisoned. The elderly and children were not spared from the extreme measures either. Avgift was indiscriminate in her terrorism. If she could kill, she would.   Near the end of her service, Avgift realized that the Orcs she had been killing could not have been the same ones who killed her mother two decades prior. Those Orcs would have been dead thanks to the sands of time. Yet, this knowledge was suppressed as killing was how Avgift now coped with the loss of her mother. Her father had secluded himself decades earlier to deal with his sorrows. Avgift, who rushed forward into battle, was running away too. Her onslaught had earned her the nickname, the Skaving Dwarf by the Orcs. This would not last.   The Dwarven commanders realized that entire Orcish villages had been poisoned when a regiment of soldiers who drank from a Orcish well began displaying signs of poisoning. Due to the natural resilience of Dwarves, the soldiers survived but the army was forced to retreat. Avgift, overtaken by the guilt of her actions, reported directly to her superiors and confessed. The Dwarven commanders’ reactions were mixed. Some praised her for her honestly and patriotism and others disgusted that one of their best scouts was capable of such horrors. Avgift was pressed to explain her actions and it was agreed that she should be discharged with honors. The atrocities committed by her were too disgraceful to Dwarven tradition and so it was designed for her to leave quietly to save some face with the public. After 47 years of service and sacrifice, Avgift retired at the rank of Lieutenant with several medals to commemorate her service before disappearing from military life.   She returned to her home to a sickly father, saddened by her dismissal by the military and demanded to know why. After Avgift told him about why she was discharged his sadness became an incurable depression coupled with a disgust for her. Many other members of the clan distanced themselves from her as rumors spread of the schism in her household. She found herself truly alone despite being surrounded by those who should have considered her kin. They were polite but Avgift knew of the great void she had made between them. The last time she would see most of them would be at her father's funeral a year after her retirement. Her father however, barred her from attending, too disgusted by her actions. With the ban enforced by the Dharok clan, she watched the event from across the street. She still has not yet seen her father's grave.   Avgift attempted to adjust to normal life in the Dwarf Kingdom after her father's death but found herself feeling stuck. Without the pressures of war and outside worries, everything that she had experienced struck her at once. She had killed so many and it was all for nothing. She would never have been able to get revenge on the Orcs for her mother but in trying Avgift had alienated herself from Dwarven society, her clan, and her father. She had been cast aside and, with some reflection, Avgift agreed that she should be. Days after the funeral, she accepted her position and left the kingdom for a fresh start or maybe atonement.   For roughly a decade, she bounced around the different nations of Cana, simply reflecting on herself. Along the way, she met a few people with good and bad characters. Most never stuck around as Avgift traveled a lot, making a new life as a hunter of exotic creatures. It was through a co-worker that she began to consider the Luminaries as a possible future.   The Luminaries were not unheard of in the Dwarf Kingdom but they were not common occurrences. Only the stories from fellow hunters stuck around but that was enough to convince her. What she seeks is comradeship in the Luminaries and for a sense of purpose as she runs from her shameful past. At the age of 158, Avgift found a new purpose and resolved to join the Luminaries. Not knowing what to expect, she rushes forward into an unknown future.

Romilius’ Union
11/5/2021

I decided to pay Romilius a visit today. He seems to have made it well. Half of the workers are supporting him and he’s recruiting Luminaries to help his cause, myself included. Dibs on first Luminary to support him by the way. I was there to give him the idea. So aside from that good news, the rest of the workers are reserved. They have some worries about the union but that should be solved once Agarthi itself endorses the Union.   We talked long about how to best redo my outfit and compared our recent purchases of weapons. It seems that I have a long day ahead of me. Silver ore to get commissioned into decor and weapons, a new way of equipping myself, and of course, showing off my weapons for a nice little fear factor. The silver will go to a new maul and a replica of the wyvern skull I had. I’m thinking of wrapping the wolf pelt around me, getting some metal plates and jewelry, and an actually good cloak. I may die in this line of work but at least I’ll die in style HAHA!   11/1/2021 to 11/5/2021 Romilius RP 6

Session 17: Best Foot Forward
10/15/21

Big show, small mission, institutionalized prank. That was this mission. At least I got paid a couple hundred gold coins but damn. Didn't expect lord Byron, leader of the Luminaries, to basically send us on a test mission. By us, I mean Jel, porcelain in skin color now, White Sun, who seems to have a more cheerful demeanor now, Leo, sinking her depression with hot chocolete since she cant get drunk ever since she started glowing, and Mushroom. She's still the same.   Honestly the gold is nice and all, got a small armory of weapons and all that, but the lord's extensive study is more attractive to me as a reward. That map they had also looked pretty nice. Right. Anyway. The mission. After meeting with the lord's council of a Tortle, some gloomy looking human, and some other person I don't remember, we were to go to Tolteca, find a mystical creature that can contain the "ancient magical structures with ancient power to save the world", also known as the Obelisks which everyone knows about by now, and get the creature's shell. It was a snail with many flail like heads. Plenty of stone elementals were attached to it for some reason which jumped off during the battle and started fighting us with it but it went fairly well. I'm actually pretty proud of that one. From the top of the cave housing the village we were trying to save a hundred plus feet up, Jel basically dropped me onto the snail and with one old swipe, boom, gone. Snail was dead.   Yeah it hurt on the landing but not as much as I thought it would. All these missions with chaos nearby though is really taking it's toll on me though. I'm getting magical or something. By channeling chaos or whatever it is, it seems that I can put a lot of power into my attacks. An interesting phenomenon but not one that I find interesting to invest my time in. I'd rather figure out how to smith properly if I'm honest. Finally skilled and strong enough to do so.   The whole mission after the snail died was revealed to be a simple simulation by the council. That man in black and the blue dragonborn (I just remembered), summoned the monsters to see if we can handle future missions. Turns out we can. Aside from that the place we went to really sucked. Hot and dry and unfun. Looking back on it the best thing was either killing the snail or flying thanks to Jel. Let's go with flying. I should ask them to cast that on me again. That was... really fun.       -350 adamantine maul, +25 gold for heavy crossbow. +250 gold, +1 rock from the crater from landing, -100 gold assorted weapons. +1 Scimitar, +1 Mace, +2 Sickles, +3 Spears, +2 Flails, +1 Lance, +1 Morning Star, +2 QuarterStaffs, +1 Sling, +3 clubs, +1 Greatclub, +1 Light Hammer, +1 Whip, +1 Trident, +1 Pike, +1 Warpick.   2655 -> 2480 gp   4d4+4 Nu’ala makes greater healing potion +50 gold. Session 16: Panthelos Percivers
10/8/2021

Day 3 Ahem. Well. Uh. Ilelynn really just kind of grabbed me and the next thing I know, I was heading off to a tower in the middle of the ocean that Emrys previously investigated. It is an ancient Morgannwig arch mage tower which was owned by Itaz Paxis. So we’re going to activate a magic item that needs teleportation magic or should I say, Altum and Emrys will. I have no business in magic after all. Well, the team that’s coming along is Emrys, Nuvian, Illelyn, Altum. Altum is a strange blue teifling man in a blue suit but with large black tentacles sprouting from his back. Nuvian has a ten gallon hat since last I saw him and like me, just got nabbed by Emrys for this. Illelyn has a sword hilt without a blade, a bow without arrows. It’s probably magic or something. Magic. Probably. I hope. Currently on the Shrike, the ship taking us to the tower, and hopefully the weather gets better. Been nothing but storm for the past couple days.   Day 6 We finally arrived. A completely submerged grey and red tile tower surrounded by the blue green water in the middle of the ocean. It's covered in barnacles and other sea life. Nothing too special aside from a pretty well made structure, some function, and a little bit or ornateness thrown on in with all the magic runes. Getting one’s lungs filled with water however is a strange feeling, especially when it’s magical. A unique feeling for sure.   The tower master is a large tentacled creature with three eyes and a strong psychic presence. The creature is an Abolyth called Anomalous. Skipping to the end, he died when we met Penthalos in his actual form. Just magically packed up and poof, pop! He’s gone. Dead. Pushed out of existence.   Oh right, so we got teleported to some other place after activating the teleportation in the tower. There we met Penthalos or at least initially some lesser form. An advanced recording of the original. A sort of lesser ego with a deformed hairless face wearing the same stuff as Emrys. Pretty strange. Still, even though it was just a lesser piece, it’s ego was massive and capable of great electrical magic.   We were taken through a couple rooms to get to Penthalos himself. The first room was really a prank. TO prevent hill giants he said. Despite that we still didnt get the answer of "zero". Just a fluke he said. We still didn’t get it. I still don’t. The second room was a massive library. While everyone else chose predicable books on magic, I decided to get the story of this Penthalos. A great Knower, martial artist, and magician of the highest order. While I have not yet read his story, I anticipate it will be quite an enjoyable read. Volume 10 of Edition 3 of his autobiography. Apparently when he was in his prime.   Anyway, the third room unleashed a dog that kept causing me to lapse out for a bit. Accidental but still it really hurt. It kept popping up in several rooms, shattering our ear drums until Penthalos himself dusted the dog. One room was stone and steel of great damage and fracture. The Knower’s great martial prowess. Sure he may have been a giant but that was still impressive. Another room was a pitch black room that apparently held pure chaos energies. Nuvian and Altum had rainbow oscilloscope eyes after that room. It was pretty hilarious.   Then we got to the man himself. Basically he just need us to help assemble his own body. A new mechanical body. It didn’t last very long though. Monstrosities, chimeras, and a vast host of deadly creatures spewed forth from a white portal. While they were defeated, Penthalos’ new body failed him, and he exploded, destroying the complex after Emrys teleported us out. The last creature to come from the portal, a hybrid of several beasts declared that the will of chaos will end the world, rending it’s inhabitants from chaos, killing them. It seemed like they were following Ilelynn, perhaps her cult’s slaughterers, but that’s not my business.   Sigh… It looks like my peaceful days are coming to an end now.   Time to save the world again. Hah… I’m getting too old for this.     Boon: Cataclysmic Knowledge: Can increase your intelligence by 2, can call about the winds of chaos, you can spend up to half of your own hit dice when doing an attack or damage spell. Does not count for crits.   +Penthalos' Volume 10, Edition 3 Autobiography Penthalos in his prime,   Damage Done: +0/+5, +0/+18   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: -35 Thunder, -40 Thunder, -9 piercing, -22 Piercing,   HP Healed: +30 from Penthalos' healing potion bath   Times Down: 0   Natural 1s: Natural 1 to avoid the thunder cry, hit the hydra   Natural 20s:

On Newcomers and Returners
9/6/2021

Romilius finally appeared again. Hard to believe its been nearly a year since we last saw each other. Well, heh, it might have been longer then that. We talked about the recent events with the mind flayers and the elves and all that fun stuff happening in the West, Romilius' business ventures into trade companies and worker unions, and of course, more Luminary rumors. The same as always basically. His ailment/curse does seem to have gotten better. The Bugbear seems more lean now. Less skeletal. Still slightly horrifying to see but it's not like a starved, depraved husk. Back to our topics though. His union is progressing. He gathers the workers near the port and gives grand speeches of a better life and better pay. Nothing too odd.   The same goes for the mind flayers. A few victories here, a crushing defeat there. Wardens in the background doing something. More of the new normal.   The odd part is the newer Luminaries. They are certainly interesting. The main character of our conversation was one of my kin. Ham, of my own clan, what used to be my clan anyway, worries me. She seems to prefer kitchen utensils to actual weapons. She has a bow and enough arrows but her main methods of harm are... well underwhelming. A meat mallet in place of a hammer and a lengthened kitchen knife as a replacement for a sword. Her armor is pots, pans, and other things that could not even protect against the most crudely made arrow. Perhaps that is a bit of an exaggeration but she is... worrying. Others included Calliope and Tyrannus. I can at least trust them to be competent from appearances alone though. I pray that Ham proves me wrong and shows her worth in mortal combat.   Oh, we also talked about the worst party that could have been assembled with the prompt being, self destructive party. We didn't come to a conclusion but those ideas remained pretty interesting if I do say so myself. I should think of another for our next meeting.   7/26/2021 to 8/9/2021 Ham RP 1   8/22/2021 to 9/6/2021 Romilius RP 5

Session 15: The Crypt of the First Council
6/6/2021

Time to see the damage we accidently caused. For this mission we are heading to the elven homeland of Ambarad and find some elven council member with the hopes of gaining another ally against the mind flayer invaders. The team for this is myself, Emrys, William, and Jel, who is now a white skinned, green eyed changeling with scars all over his body, curtesy of his new patron, the Lady of Pain. One more member, Cirlia Silinian, is a solemn looking elf with a gold and white pseudo dragon pet. Her coming along is a natural thing considering she too is an elven council member, courtesy of there being no one left.   Now, that we've set it up I'll get to reading this book. I asked Jel for a read of Joosta's autobiography. Now, Agarthi obviously took it for security purposes but they made a copy, translated to common. I'm hoping it'll be a pretty interesting read. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the way there, the captain, Rodrick Simions, has us all sit around a circle and talk about things to help relive the tension in the party. Jel and Cirlia have a bit of a strenuous relationship. She blames them for breaking the obelisk and allowing the mind flayers to invade which is true. They did do that. Jel on the other hand doesn't seem to care that they all died since the Obelisks would have broken down anyway since they cant be repaired. I suppose I should be mad but you know, Jel's logic is sound.   A storm also came in , roughed up the ship a little but nothing too serious. Made for some good reading ambience. The book is mostly on the construction of the obelisks and the dragon's ancient war against the demons. Even though it's just history, its a fascinating read. The demons replicated the slave armies of Kobolds, Dragonborn, and Humans under command of the dragons and created Tieflings. The obelisks were used to end the war by sealing Cana off from other planes. These magical planar shields made by dragon architects had a installed self destruct mechanism so whenever they were deactivated, they would break. Looks like it was just to buy some time for us.   --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We arrived to a pretty ruinous port. Cirlia threatened Jel that if they mess up here they will not return. Strenuous party here. Luckily, no such thing happened. The entire mission went off without a problem. The crypt was guarded by two skeletal guards, elven probably, and they let us pass after a stressful little introduction.   The crypt started off with some puzzles. Nothing too difficult. One went off but it didn't hurt too much. Just some necrotic energy in a burial spot. Spirits had us drop off our weapons as we went ahead to visit the Elven lord. There were puzzles on basically every pathway, all covering the tenants of the elven council. The one we met was Lord Naldurai. He is a keeper of the spirits, a lord of the elven dead. Like the other creatures in here, he is a skeletal spirit. He seems like a nice guy though. Pretty reasonable. Doesn't want to endanger his spirits so his forces will just do scouting, gathering information and allowing for other forces to attack weak spots. While it was a military meeting, I didn't get involved. I didn't need to. This Cirlia however is a strange one. Naïve. Her people are at war, but she doesn't want to cause deaths. If she's their leader I don't think there's much hope for the elves. The cost of victory will be deaths untold and the consequence of defeat is annihilation. Shame. The elves were doing good work, carving out the flank of the Orcs.   +138 Master craft hand crossbow, +350 gold.   Level up to 10! + 17 HP->156 HP   Damage Done:   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: -10   HP Healed:   Times Down:   Natural 1s:   Natural 20s: Nat 20 to make the hand crossbow,

On Nuvian
6-01-2021

Nuvian is an old Drow in his 90s I believe. Been on several missions with him and he seems to have a good character. He's my counterpart of the underground war. Used to be a scout for his army just like I was for mine. Both of us have obviously retired from such a role and I think we are both glad to be. His goals are similar to mine, just get out there and do something. We talked quite a bit about our past missions. Had to explain to him how we ended up fighting a massive pufferfish. Weird times.   I do hope that he'll survive the coming storm. He has already fallen in battle several times before. It's only a matter of time until his luck runs out. Hopefully, it'll be by time and not some stray blow from a monster. Then again, I suppose that goes for myself as well.   Nuvien RP 1, 5-30-2021 to 6-01-2021.

Session 14: A Better First Impression
5/29/2021

I can't say that I am not surprised by the team chosen for this mission. Considering it's diplomatic nature, Nuvian, a Drow, was a prime choice. Mushroom is an interesting pick but understandable as she's very capable, even if she doesn't see it. Emrys, is a good speaker, working well under pressure. I am questioning why I am here, considering that I have a rather, bloody history with the Drow. Then there's Leo. I... I am unsure of why she is here. Well, we are sneaking past the dwarves to deliver a peace treaty to the Drow. I cannot see this going poorly. Not at all.   Since of course, this is a covert mission, so we are leaving on another small, "stealthy" ship. A nondescript merchant vessel. The captain seems pretty eager to help us but he's unimportant. What is important is this little old gray haired woman named Lina coming with us. She's is going to create a teleportation circle which will allow us and the Drow to freely move between their little nation and Agarthi. Hopefully it all goes well.   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally arrived. A nearly four day journey to get here since we had to move around Cha'lakor. First day was uneventful, the second was also the same inus seeing a Peryton flying around a burning island, third day we came across an undiscovered reef, and on the fourth we killed a large octopus. Got a little vial of that stuff since we liquified it basically.   The beaches however, were the worst. Landed today with everyone and before we even got off the beaches a pair of Abominabunnies came at us. Nuvian is recovering and Leo's dog has clearly seen better days. Hell, even Emrys looks a little roughed up. I did get some of it's fur and it's head though so, a job well done. We're getting ready to enter the caves and descend into the ground. Gave Emrys a torch so he could help light the way. Leo's already ready to go with the glowing maul she picked up from Ilelynn's place. It's almost nightfall so we'll be descending soon.   ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The caves are still a confusing mess but at least I'm out. As we descended there were scenes of abandoned camps and purposely closed routes. Aside from the group of intelligent snakes, the skeleton Belinda and her spider Bertha, and a long walk, nothing happened up till we got near the city. We accidently destroyed the guards. A pair of stone spiders which were quickly destroyed, dark iron rapier being critical to the quickness of the fight. Honeslty, Emrys' spells made that fight far more fun then it should have been.   This made the two actual Drow guards, Bradrin and Charin, to come out and lead us to their city, Erydrin. The Drow are still assholes but nice to see they've got population problems too. If the quality of these guards are anything to go off of too, this nation isn't worth much. Still good to know a bit about the Drow. Here the Drow citizens are Talocs and the nobles are called the Vishkar.   Besides, they probably all aren't bad. If Nuvien and Mayolin, the old Drow's sister, are anything to go off of, there might be hope left. This nation has rebels against the Vishkar but uh, honestly, it's quite disappointing. Talking to this rabble, we dwarves could have easily wiped this away if we directed our full force against it. Perhaps there's hope left for the kingdom.     +2/+15 Gold Liquid Blaster Tubes and 5 cannisters. +1 vial of Octopudding (Liquified Octopus). -1 torch, +2 rations. +200 gold.   Damage Done: Octopus: +20/+14, Rabbits: +6/+0/+12, +16/+4/+0, +4/+0/+0 Snakes: +9/+9/+8 Stone Spiders:+12/+11, +16/+40/+13/+18, +16/+15/+16/+46   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: -8   HP Healed:   Times Down:   Natural 1s: Nat 1 to hit the rabbit.   Natural 20s: Nat 20 to hit the rabbit, Nat 20 to hit the rabbit, Nat 20 to find out why the tunnel was collapsed, Nat 20 to hit the stone spider, Nat 20 to climb cliff and Nat 20 to hit the second spider.

Session 13: Terminus
5/23/2021

Well, this mission was much more difficult then last time and not really worth it. Well, I did finally go to Jottun. I didn’t stay around long enough to get anything more then a brief impression if cold and snowy. We rushed through the six day journey inland to get to Terminus so I didn’t get to do a lot of sight seeing. Couldn’t just run around visiting places either since the mission was pretty secretive. We were sent to deliver some information about some woman named Eliza and was tossed us a pretty beaten and worn map of the northern parts of Jottun. We made it but it took much effort to deliver a simple letter.   Anyway, the team was pretty powerful. First is William, a tall human man in dark nondescript clothes and a backpack full of tools. He’s got his bright red bone prosthetic. Second, we got Emrys, a young mid 20's human wizard with blonde hair and traveler's clothes. He's got 1 blue eye and a fancy red and gold eyepatch. Hard times lately I assume. Oh, we also have Mushroom in her signature purple and Jel, now 5'6" with their raggedy clothes.   So six days after we were dropped off by an unofficial merchant vessel we arrived at a two story wooden house and a rusted poor fence. The inside of the run down house seemed distorted as light was bent strangely. As we walk in, instead of being decrepit it is quite regal and furnished in here with a red rug and hanging chandelier. A strange area with glowing symbols and riddles. As normal we couldn’t leave the area but the outside world was also heavily distorted. We ended up solving the riddle and moving onward.   The upcoming obstacles were all memories from each member of the party but twisted into something else. William’s was a woman who called herself the mind guide. She was a dead luminary who died on a mission led by William. In the end we killed her in the final memory, Mushrooms. Mine was one of the tropical battlefields in Cha’lakor. I was given the option to make the poison that I used for 30 years and so I did. It may have ruined me but now I know how to properly use it. The illusionary world said I failed but I don’t think so. It simply lacks the conviction to use it properly. Jel’s memory wasn’t really a memory. It was more like an choice. The mind guide said they chose wrong and so we had to fight our way out of a hall made from ribbon’s and the shapeshifter’s shadow spawn. I don’t know what choice he was offered but considering he went unconscious for it, the choice was probably an important one.   The next memory was Emry's. Complete with four statues with missing pieces with four unlit torches. The wizard gathered up some wooden items and set it aflame with a blue tint. I felt his heartfelt moments with his assumedly dead childhood friends as he destroyed all of the statues. He’s probably fine though. Heard humans bounce back quickly.   Mushroom’s memory was of her farm. Initially the wrong answer was chosen and she began emitting an aura of necrotic energy. In the end, instead of trying to preserve the farm, we burnt it to the ground. Once we did that, the aura disappeared and we were allowed to leave the illusionary world.   We reappeared in the real decrepit house we arrived at without any shimmering distortions. Then the floor opened up, rae eating a staircase the descended into the ground. At the bottom we met a few of the terminus wardens. They ended up putting us to sleep with our consent and we woke up in Greth'Larki's studies. There we learned that Eliza has apparently escaped but the Terminus wardens offered up a deal. Basically we help deal with Eliza, and they will help deal with the mind flayers who are invading. Considering they can just make us fall asleep at will, they would be a powerful ally. I have a feeling I’ll be fighting in another war soon. Hopefully, I’ll come out better then before.       +38 Hand crossbow (Luminous Arms), +500 gold, +3 old gold coins.   Damage Done: +15/+17, +16/+16, +5/+8/+6, +13/+14, +0/+18, +16/+14/+25   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: +15/+7, +14, +11... +14, +16, +0/+5/+3   HP Healed:   Times Down:   Natural 1s: Nat 1 on attack of opportunity   Natural 20s: Nat 20 to save on poison.

Session 12: Excavation at the Border
5/14/2021

Well, whoops. This mission may have been a mistake. The elven nation is being destroyed as I write this. Uh, hmm... The beginning. Lets start there.   So the mission was heading into Orcish territory to excavate a site that the elven kingdom of Ambarad found. The team assembled for this was Kira, a Canjian woman, short stature at 4'10". She was equipped with a minotaur's head and has two massive cleavers. Small but intimidating you know? Next up we have Striktly Speaking, a grey teifling with big unblinking yellow eyes. The man wears black clothes, cloak, armor. Kinda like a certain half elf I know. Not related at all though. The other members are old colleagues, Tyrannus and Liberty. Along the way we also picked up a hobgoblin chef named Naska. Turned out just to be Jel being weird though. Honestly didn’t think it was him. The food wasn’t burnt or anything but that’s beside the point.   The ship that came to pick us up was elven but the crew seemed somber and quiet. A bit too serious for my liking. The area we were at were the jungles of Chalakor, near the front lines of their war against the Orcs. I’m surprised that they declared war. I didn’t think that they would have made it this far but there’s a good chance that they’ll win. Well, there was a good chance.   Anyway, we arrived at the beaches and made our way forward to an toltecan style temple being taken by nature. These were common around chalakor and Tolteca so it wasn’t anything too strange. Figured that the elves just wanted to have some good reassurance that the excavation went well.   Stairs heading up to the top of the pyramid was pretty large. A bit of a problem when you’re short. There was a button on the top with a written warning. Something about evil within and fighting it. We pressed it. Ended up falling into the temple. One slippery slide later and we found ourselves in a massive black obsidian room with an egg in the middle of it.   Kira ended up hitting it which causes the temple to activate. A copper dragon mural was illuminated as some circus music began to play. Soon after a small dragon creature flies out from the egg. A smooth white stone with black speckles rightly named Marble the Guide tells us to enter the circuits. It seemed to be a golem or maybe a construct with a personality of some sort. Either way it was more advanced then anything I’ve seen. It directed us to a rather large dragon’s mouth for us to start it’s circus.   Since it looked like the only way out we entered of course. Ahead of us was an obstacle course of some sort. First obstacle, a hallway full of blades and swords that slashed at us. I went ahead and took out my shield and then ran so fast the shield didn't even get a nick. Everyone else? They got a few slices but no big deal. Next obstacle, some pillars slamming into the ground and then a red magical trap at the end of some sort. Easily passed by everyone.   Next room was magically darkened but the room was brightened as all of us went in. It was a room of mirrors. We had to open 1 of 12 doors until we found our way out. So Jel opened up the first door. I was pretty happy with the surprise. A blue draconic wyvern. Round 1, pretty easy. I am the dragon slayer after all.   Well, then round 2. The remaining doors opened up, releasing the remaining monsters. There was a fire elemental, some hellhound and it's owner, and a weird purple giant. No idea what the others where but we won. The battle devolved into a free for all so I just focused on surviving. Got a fairly good harvest from these creatures. Poison, claws, weapons, armor. A good haul.   Next up was a strong man competition. A black dragonborn was flexing and calling us to try it. I think I did pretty well but I didn't get any prizes though. Nothing really left for me to take since Tyrannus and Kira got the same prizes. That aside the food here was really good, sweet, salty, savory meats. Ah, back on topic.   While wandering around I got this liquid squirter, purple. Basically a pump that spews liquid. It proved to be fairly critical in the next room where we fought a large metal construct with a top hat. As we shot it with the acid a balloon on it expanded until it eventually burst and fall apart, the acid eating away at it.   During the fight Marble did get blasted by Jel due to a “voice in their head”. Strange but I’ve seen stranger. After the fight we went down another slide and meet a ringmaster copper dragon, Justa Prank. Well, not really the dragon. This dragon died a long time ago. Only this illusion, a memory of himself, remains. He talked about the state of the world thousands of years ago and, after saying his goodbyes, he disappeared. There were a few magic items there but I was mostly interested in the autobiography of this dragon. I need to ask Jel for a copy or something later on. It seems like an interesting read. After dividing the items I helped Jel carry out the massive dragon scroll for our return to Agarthi.   Upon our return though, we learned that our removal of the scroll had destroyed another so called Obelisk which kept interplaner travel from happening. Ambarad was destroyed as a mind flayer army came through the interplaner rift. The elves are crippled. Their people are scattered among the other nations now. Sigh... It may just be the end. Just maybe. Well, nothing I can do about it. It seems that all that is left for me to do is simply live. Long enough to see the end of all things at least. One more war.   +38 gold Luminous Arms hand crossbow. -2 torches, +2 vials of Wyvern Stinger Venom, + 1 Wyvern Head, +Ancient Dragonborn splint armor, +1 ancient long sword , Liquid Blaster Tubes (20/60 with a bonus action to reload at a source of liquid. +250 gold.   Avgift Level up to 9, 3/14/2021   Damage Done: +5/+8/+6, +14/+6, +0/+15/+0, +18/+20, +0/+18/+17,   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: +12/+10   HP Healed:   Times Down:   Natural 1s:   Natural 20s: Nat 20 to harvest 2 vials of wyvern stinger venom (One vial to one weapon. Well, Jun asked me for help today. A few hours after we returned from the mission too. Kid's got good initiative. He wanted some help with finding a tailor to fix the outfit he brought on the last mission. Pretty much shredded. Spent most of the time just wandering around trying to find one. While we were just wandering around we talked about several things. Me healing him on our last mission, his tendency to cause collateral damage among team members, and a bit about his family.   The second is actually why I've been staring at this paper for awhile now. He wanted some help in avoiding another situation with Calliope. I've designed this course. Dummies fairly spread apart. One marked dummy in the middle of it all which Jun will try and hit. If he hits it he'll get a point. If he hits any other dummy aside from the marked one, that's minus one point. He's got a minute to get as many points as possible so, here's to hoping. I'll probably write down the results in another entry.   Jun RP 2 5/2/2021 to 5/5/2021

Session 11: Lost and Found
5/1/2021

I headed home for this one. My return to Nogaak eron da Dwedmar. I didn't think I would have accepted returning but I was curious to see how things where going. The mission this time was to simply find some miners and craftsmen lost in the depths of the mountains.   The team assembled for this mission was Calliope, a six foot tall, middle aged brown haired human woman with a bit of an attitude, Tyrannus, "the indomitable", a giant armored spiky lizard folk, Jun, fancy and present, Berlioz, our local tabaxi, and myself. The ship dropped us off at the southern part of Cha'lakor so we had to trek north across the entire continent to the kingdom. Dangerous but, doable. It was supposed to be almost a week long trek but some things happened along the way.   The first day was quite dusty. Some dust sprites tried to surround us or something in the dryer planes below. Nothing else of note occurred. On the second day we came across a hut with an old orc woman. She offered some bread but I refused. The real action of the day was when a party of orcs came along. They had the goal of stealing gems from the dwarven mines. They had two half orcs held captive behind them, most likely to use as labor for mining. I made up my mind to kill them. Luckily the party followed and we made short work of them all. I went ahead and collected the orc's weapons and armor, three great axes, one chainmail shirt, and two sets of hide armor, once the battle was complete. We set the half orcs off and drove the cart to to the dwarven gates. By the midday of the third day of our travels, we entered the kingdom. Our travel time, halved.   There, we were greeted by Tezeldor, an old dwarf with a limp, using a pick axe as a cane. He warned us of large insects and the possibility of other deadly creatures in the mines. Two trainees went missing down there and another five dwarves went in too for a total of seven missing dwarves. With that information, went into the mines, ready to clear it out.   Down there, we cleared up a bone snake, a gelatinous cube, and met a skeleton with a bowtie named Billy Bones walking a spider named Billy. A tooth of that snake lies on the shelf with the rest of my souvenirs at the moment as I write this. Also on my desk are a few mushrooms. I collected some blue glowing mushrooms down there. They're brown in well lit areas, blue in the dark. Partially poisonous but honestly it just annoys the nose and makes you want to sneeze. I think I'll give one to Mushroom. It might help with her research.   After clearing out a filthy burrow filled with umberhulks, tough but not too tough, we managed to find the dwarves. The trainees were alive but the others, not so much. Vonren and Nesmora, are the names of the two surviving dwarves. Basically kids, nowhere near dwarven age. There was also a very confused Drow maned Isston among the survivors. We took him with us since he clearly didn't know where he was or where to go. While we recovered, preparing for our journey back to the surface, we did a little mining of our own. I managed to get a large Ametheseus.   Aside from Jun's many blunders, this mission went fairly well. Tyrannus and Calliope are the only ones who went down so a little more then half is good. I do worry about Jun though. Jun thunder waved me in the middle of the fight against the gelatinous cube. He also managed to hit Calliope in almost every fight with one or two spells, mostly with that thunderous spell. If he is trying to make friends I don't think it's really working. He's making more people mad then anything else. What to do what to do... I have to help him find a tailor later on too. His suit got shredded. Sigh... I guess I should do that now.     Mined a softball sized Ametheseus. Returned with them and got paid.   -10 Gold for 200 bolts, +1 Chainmail, +2 hide armor, +3 Great Ax, +1 Bone Naga fang, +4 Bioluminescent Mushrooms, softball sized amatheyst. +125 GP   Damage Done: Orc Party: +0/+34, +18/+11, +16, Bone Snake: +11, +24, Gel Cube: +9/+6/+9, +7/+7/+7, +8/+7/+8, Bug Creatures: +8/+7, +9/+8/+0, +0/+8/+6, +5/+7+7, +8/+9/+9, +0/+5/+6, +8/+6/+5   Damage done by Allies: +16 by Jun's Thunderwave, +3 by Berlioz being confused   Damage done by Enemies: Orcs:+0, +4/+8, +0/+7, Fall: +2   HP Healed:   Times Down:   Natural 1s: 1 to save against Jun's thunderwave, Nat 1 to attack the worm creature , Another Nat 1 to attack the creature,   Natural 20s: Nat 20 to hit the snake, Nat 20 for initiative against thing,

Session 10: How Unexpected!
4/30/2021

So...the Kobolds got into a ship wreck following their new god near the Incos Isles. Specifically Incodda, an island between Incos and Canjian. We were headed there to essentially defend them till they made their repairs.   Team for this was Mushroom in her purple outfit, Jun, our blue haired fancily dressed Triton, Liberty, a blonde short haired human wizard, and Berlioz, a green eyed tabaxi with black fur, a rapier, and bow, and myself. Berlioz is also apparently afraid of the water. Understandable as it's a awful place to be. Something we strongly agree on.   So we arrived at their encampment on a beach. Their awful ship was broken, even more so then the last time I saw it, but being repaired. Somehow. It shouldn’t have been able to float in the first place if I’m honest. Anyway, Bogger the red kobold leader greeted us and went on his way to repair the ship. The first thing we did was meet with Debond the pufferfish. Yep. The kobolds named the pufferfish. Anyway, Jun and Berlioz planned to free the fish after the mission. They did it like right after we started since it apparently has a family. Almost had a little incident with the Kobolds as Jun used thunderwave to get their attention. Two almost died. I stabilized them while they talked to the kobolds and surprisingly it worked. The kobolds agreed to use sails and relinquish their "god" to us. Jun then freed the pufferfish and sent it off back to where it came.   So, first problem solved. Second problem comes. The kobolds seemed to have a good time but acted intoxicated. Lack of safety was evident among the lot of them and this suspicion of intoxication was correct. The kobolds were apparently drinking really strong ale. Nothing else. Just ale. To solve the problem, Jun went ahead and destroyed the barrel, forcing the Kobolds to find an alternate source which we did. Liberty stayed behind to tutor a magical kobold so aside from her, the entire party came along.   While trying to find a water source, we were attacked by three Ahuizotl which were attempting to kill a kobold. Big creatures with 6-10 feet long, four legs, and sharp claws, and hand tails. Hand tails. best way to describe it. They were dealt with pretty nicely. Jun paralyzed most of them with a spell and from there we killed them off one by one. The Kobold, named Dego, was saved. Apparently she was searching for some herbal flowers. Which we did help her do later that night to gather more wood from deeper within the forest. We helped her find Echinacea, greenish and purple petals. Luminaries. Ending slavery and empowering the next generation.   Well, the forest was where most of the deadly things happened. There was a large tree, an oak just a bit younger then me. Turns out it wasnt a oak. It was a big tree creature. An Ent. Smaller trees also awakened at it's call. Some Kobolds did die. Jun and Berlioz did go down a couple times. I also felt like falling down as this thing beamed me in the head with a boulder. It was basically a catapult. Luckily, the healing potions came in pretty handy and Liberty had quite a bit of fire spells on her. It was finished off by Mushroom though. One day later and a good night's rest, the kobolds finished off their ship with white paint. The Pufferfish took it's maiden voyage right after we were paid by Bogger. Not bad I say. I got 200 gold for my troubles and a whole bunch of Kobolds decided to follow us back to Agarthi. I hope they don't cause too much trouble. Then again the higher ups might not even let them in. I guess we'll see.   +200 gold, 3 bodies of these cat lizard creatures.   Luminous Arms: Light Crossbow +12 gold, +50 GP For the 3 creatures.   Damage Done: Cats: +8/+9/+9, +11/+10, +6/+18/+7, Ents: +6/+13, +0/+2/+2, +5/+0/+8   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: Cat creatures: +3/+7/+5, Ents: +11, +14, +35   HP Healed: Potions +8   Times Down:   Natural 1s:   Natural 20s: 20 to hit a cat creature, 20 to hit a creature

Keep meeting new people in the forest. I wonder if I should just set up inside the forest at this point. It seems like everyone goes there these days. Not that it’s a bad thing you know? I like meeting new people. It’s exciting. met Theseus that way, got to know Ilelynn then too. Well, today I met Jun. Didn’t catch his last name but he’s a Triton, from Triton under the sea. Or a Triton near Triton? He wasn’t too specific about that but that’s okay.   He seems to be a nice guy. A little vain and lavish but I think I’ll get along with him. He is very reasonable. Also quite a looker. Very easy on the eyes even if he is a bit tall and lanky. His life so far seems to be of familial strife. His twin sister hated him for being the closest to perfect their parents expected them to be and I guess the expectations got too much for him. A bit sad. Reminds me a little of father I suppose.   Well, after he approached me, carving out a Praxalandos from a chuck of wood at my carving spot, we went to go kill a rabbit. His first kill. He didn’t strike me as someone with the resolve but Jun is more then willing. Skinned it pretty well. He let me keep the pelt from his. There were two so now I have two rabbit skins. I don’t really have a purpose for them but maybe I’ll use it?   Oh, that Praxalandos sculpture by the way? Hollowed out the bottom and put in some of the firestones. It’s a glowing sculpture. A wonderful paper weight.     Jun RP 1   4/28/21 to 4/30/21

Fishy Favors: Session 9
4/25/2021

This mission was strange. Not because of any mystical power but the target of the mission. We headed to Kinzokolos aboard the Tempest to help the kobolds and establish good relations. Mission accomplished but... just but.   The team was Atak Malion, an human archer, magical, knows some spells I think. Well, he seemed pretty magical while he was conscious. White Sun in her ton of armor. Jel wearing a torn coat with bloody edges, a spider familiar, and a spell tome. A bit more tattered but not a dress like the last two times I’ve seen them. Most interesting from appearances, Khurin Lowwalker, a grey balding muscular goliath standing at 8'2". He’s got plenty of needles all over his body and is easily recognizable by the saber tooth bone mask he’s got.   So, we arrived and headed further inland where we were met by the scent of blood. So far so good. Normal strangeness. Soon we arrived at the Kobold’s village where we finally got our actual mission details. We were to find a "pufferfish" for them so they will be led to a new land. It's a pointy golden fish of some sort. There's a really shoddy made ship made from wood scraps and wood with a place for the fish to pull the ship. I guessed it was pretty large but that was a bit of an understatement. Still, thought that a fish doing a horse’s job was pretty weird. Hiring Luminaries for a simple fishing trip was quite strange too.   I thought that the Kobolds were pretty dumb and I still somewhat do, but they knew what they were doing. The smallest child looking Kobold said to follow the coral to find the reef three days from here. There, at the reef, we would find the puffer fish where we would subdue it alive. Obviously we left using the Tempest instead of the Kobold's ship on the basis of not knowing how to sail and that the kobold's ship is pretty shoddy.   The first day was pretty peaceful, then it wasn't. Dark red leach like creatures started climbing up the ship. Jel summoned some black tentacles in front of the ship as these creatures were brushed off by it. A small hiccup but not too bad.   Day two was more difficult. Atakgot clobbered by the giant octopus that had snuck up the side of the ship but was recovered by Khurin’s medicine. It surprised me of how quick it was. It was delt with pretty quickly. As the entirety of the party beat it down. Jel paid 50 gold to have it brought up and after White Sun harvested it, Jel attempted to cook it. It was pretty bad. Like it was somehow burnt but also under cooked. Really gross texture wise and flavor wise. In fact, it was so bad that Jel actually got food poisoning from his own food.   The third day started more upbeat then the previous day, starting with the discovery that Khurin knows how to play the flute. It was nice. Then the shipped seemed like it hit something and once again, something climbed up the side. It was a large creature with sharp teeth and tentacles. It came with the scent of decay and bit off the arm of the captain. It had a foul aura that rendered most of the party nauseous unable to react. It was covered in barbs which were themselves covered in a dark essence that seemed to prevent healing. The creature did go down, mostly Khurin doing the work being entangled by the creature and beating it to death. I shot a few bolts into it but it wasn’t anything special.   While harvesting it, I learned it was called an Echinoloth from White Sun. I harvested a barb from it but it's black essence faded away soon after. It's apparently called the echinoloth. The wounds it inflicted on the captain and the party did not heal but the black essence. I attempted to get it’s other organs but most simply burst upon contact. It’s insides were very soft and weak. I only managed to harvest it's liver and kidneys, and attempted to get it's skull. Sadly it was a bit too large for me to handle. Like the octopus, after harvesting it we tossed the corpse into the sea.   Later on the third day, we finally arrived at our destination. On the surface was a small island with a single palm tree on it. Around it was a colorful reef with a collapsed statue at the bottom of it. There are many colorful fish of all colors of the rainbow in this reef but we also saw our prize. There is a large puffer fish, twice the size of Khurin, which managed to appear exactly how the Kobolds described it.   So we went out in smaller vessels to take out the fish, initially trying to get it back by luring it in. Made a bit too much noise and startled it into a fight. My bad. Anyway, a fight ensued, poisonous gas was released by it in waves. Atak went down and Khurin went down in the fight, Atak had his eyes singed by poison. Jel went up into the sky and started raining down spells while I and White Sun were bashing it.   I delivered the finishing blow on the fish, beating it with my maul, and we stabilized Atak and Khurin once the battle concluded. Of course I left the fish alive. We towed it back using my Mithral hook and the kobold leader, Bogger, rewarded us. Small aside but this was the first time I used my maul in an actual fight. It might actually be more effective then my ranged way of fighting. Not that I’ll change it of course. I won’t.   Anyway, the Kobolds asked where they could migrate and live but we didn’t really know. They were sent off somewhere but I don’t remember except for the fact that it wasn’t at war or recovering from war. Their new God, the pufferfish, would be their guide I think. Considering it felt like fighting Praxalandos again, I’d say that the Kobolds are in powerful hands. Well, fins. Fins that may not recognize them as servants. Oh well, that’s not my problem anymore. Hopefully they don’t cause some for others.     Gain a barb, Echinoloth Liver and Kidneys. +250 gold. There's No Place Like Home: Session 8
4/16/2021

Well, this "mission" was anti-climatic. Really just walked around and went on a free trip to Kinzokolos. Just for my own memory when I look back on this, the "mission" was not an actual Luminary mission. Just me, helping out Ilelynn as per agreed to like four months ago.   The team she assembled was pretty well rounded. Team is of course, Ilelynn, a bit more serious then usual since we were headed to her old home, Glaw with polished plate armor and shields, looks fantastic while not wet but also has a small memory. He forgot that we worked together on a mission. Mushroom memory. Last but not least was Valtr, an old man with a polished breastplate and a hooded cloak. His weapons and tools did seem a bit worn but he seemed experienced. Age does have it's wisdom with it. Oh, and we also have Leo. She was there too.   Anyway, we went on a merchant ship not owned by the Luminaries since it wasn't sanctioned. Just a personal trip to the western side of Kinzokolos. From there we ventured inward, arriving at a random temple in a more hilly and wooded area. On the door of this worn grey stone temple was a warning note about "death coming to those who enter" on the front of it or something like that. To enter, Ilelynn cut herself and placed her hand on a bloody hand print on the door. As soon as we entered the doors closed behind us. It was pretty suspicious but not too note worthy.   In the center of that first room though there was a beautifully made black stone life like statue of a woman, 12 feet tall in a gothic dress. According to Ilelynn this was the maiden, a being they worshiped. Didn't take her to be the religious type but I guess she is.   The inside of the temple was not the most exciting thing. It was the scene of a massacre of knights of Morganwg, specifically the witch hunters, Warriors in heavy Canjian style armor, and black cloaked figures, Ilelynn's dead society. Strangely, the black wearing corpses were decaying less then the knights and warriors. The black robes looked to be dead only for a few months while the knights and warriors looked to be several years along the path of decay. Another strange thing, the black wearing corpses are all races but human. The entire complex was like this. The black robes being slaughtered, barricading themselves in rooms before dying or just falling over in the halls. We found a medallion depicting a third faction, on a black robed infiltrator, but who they were eluded everyone in the party.   Ilelynn went further down into the complex through a locked doo in the prayer room and after a few minutes, the entire place started to come apart. Next thing I know this half elf comes running out, yelling at us to run away, and so we did. The front door was open but I didn't question it. Turned around to see the entire place collapse in a heap of rubble in a sink hole. Ilelynn sure has one interesting story.   The mission wasn't for nothing though. Leo got a silvered glowing maul with the two headed ax symbol of the Peacekeeper, some human god. Valtr took some cloak covered with eyes and Glaw took a pendent that did something. He seemed pretty excited about it. I got a neat little dagger though. Called the Dagger of Final rest. It apparently prevents healing and it is a nice blade but I can't see myself using this often. It's a nice souvenir though. It's pretty sharp and durable too. Pretty good for wood whittling if I'm honest.   Ilelynn during this mission though. This job feels oily and suspicious. A three way alliance between three groups to wipe out one. Traitors within Ilelynns home. The fresh blood on Ilelynn after she came up from the locked room. The religious fever and clear rituals these people were conducting. The fact that Ilelynn is clearly hiding the purpose of her group and warned us to keep quiet about the whole thing is reason to suspect. Well, I guess I could be worse. If I do see her again and I remember I should go ahead and ask.   Dagger of Final Rest.   Damage Done:   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies:   HP Healed:   Times Down:   Natural 1s:   Natural 20s:

So, made a new Halfling friend today as well. Just a bit after getting drunk with Jel. Figured that my eyes and mouth were still glowing so I went ahead a decided to scare the shit out of him in the forest. There he was, this little Halfling, standing in the middle of a clearing, balancing some apples. He saw me as I was making my way towards him. Well, sprinting and jumping towards him. Scared him pretty well. He was casting spells, invisibility and conjuring illusions to help him. He even drew a dagger, ready to fight. Tossed an apple at me too, which I caught. In the end though I’d say he won. Blinded me with some light, causing me to fall out of the trees right in front of him. Smart or maybe just lucky. Who knows?   Anyway, he had quite a bit to talk about. Mostly the yard, our reasons for joining, having dead parents, what exactly we thought a beholder is, and a bit of our hobbies. Informed him pretty well about my growing souvenir collection. Oh and I also tossed him into a tree. He agreed to it though so he’s fine. Was also pretty interested in some of the other Luminaries here. Gave him a few names. Hopefully he’ll make it far. He may have come from a circus but he’s got more then just petty tricks.       RP Theseus 1 4/5/2021 to 4/9/2021

So, finally met Jel. First impression? Not too bad. They actually invited me to drink with them. Result, Getting hammered to all hell. Well, they did, not me. It was strong and I was warm and tingly but the drunkness? Never came. I even took two shots of the Verdant Glow. The bartender didnt let me have a third. "Being wasted on you," they said. A third shot would have done it... It would have. I was right on the edge. Instead I just got green glowing eyes and a equally glowing mouth. Its so bright when I close my eyes. Would have been better drunk. This is awful.   Oh, right. Jel. They seem to be a rather interesting changeling. They've got an extended history with the Luminaries. Fighting undead in the Incos Isles and protecting druids. They've been eaten by a giant frog and nearly killed multiple times across several missions. Also finally figured out what the spore incident was. Jel apparently ate chaos spores and that's usually supposed to turn you into an undead. They lucked out as their body changes forms too much but things like that are illegal on the island. Reasonable in my opinion.   Overall, Jel ain't too bad. They're a bit... special, but that's okay. Talys trusted them enough to start up a food carriage business with them, so they must be at least descent. They've got a sense of humor and a nice list of travel destinations with them. Speaking of destinations, Jotunn especially seems nice. Cold and snowy with plentiful things to hunt. A perfect place for my time after the Luminaires. Or maybe during it. Who knows?   Jel RP 1 4/3/2021 to 4/5/2021

On Mushroom
4/3/2021

So, finally met Mushroom. For real and not during a mission. Been on three with her as of writing this and well, she's capable even though she doesn't look or act like it. A key player in the defeat of Praxalandos two months ago, fellow dragon slayer. She doesn't seem malicious or anything of the sort. Just someone who's a little lost and a bit forgetful. I think the next time I meet her I'll have to tell her my name again.   She seems to be having a few troubles mentally. Trauma from her missions. Mostly from the gold dragon. A bit funny concerning she's wearing one of it's scales as a necklace. She certainly seems to have recovered well compared to our last mission together. Mushroom's been sending letters to her family and talking about her trauma with the other Luminaries. Abigail, the only Luminary to die on Praxalandos' mission, was apparently her friend going back for awhile. Mushroom has nightmares but I'm sure she'll be alright. She's made it this far without breaking and she's still going strong. I even got her to come out of that soft spoken shell when I brought up Romilius. Who would have thought that that man used to be four hundred pounds just before I met him.   Learned a bit about Mushroom too. I thought she was younger but as it turns out, she's only 21. It's strange, she has all of these accomplishments but she had no intention of doing them. Poor girl only joined to find a cure for her condition, chaos intertwined in her body. If she doesn't find a way to remove it or control it, it's likely she will die. The condition also causes plant life around her to die randomly, with the exception of fungus. I gave her one of the chaos infused mushrooms picked up from my last forest mission but it's up to her to find out what to do with it. I hope she does find some solution that isn't forcibly removing the chaos or destroying the Obelisks.   Ah, well aside from that, we talked a bit about my growing collection of stuff, that questionable figure known as Wisteria, and a pretty descent lunch.   Mushroom RP 4-1-2021 to 4-3-2021

A Knight's Retainer
4/2/2021

This entry is a happy one. The damn Volley Crossbow for the Luminous arms is finally done. It’s been nearly four months but its done. At long last! I think I’ll be working on more manageable weapons now. It took too long to source the parts needed for the mechanical mechanisms. The hand crossbow was pretty fun to make. Maybe I’ll make another one.   Anyway, this mission saw us heading back to Morgannwg to go kill some monsters. We arrived in the Golden Shores where we departed for a farming town further inland.   Team for this job is Leo, Ilelynn, White Sun, and myself. A newer Luminary, Int, a mechanical warforged also joined us. The man? No machine? I’ll say he for now. He was dressed in splint armor and had a helmet with two minotaur horns. He's already well equipped with dark iron weapons and magical weapons. Then again I suppose that’s expected of someone from the Savage Wastes. They must be prepared for the horrors of those sands.   The start of the mission was fairly eventful. Leo drank some green glowing alcohol and started glowing a similar green. She got absolutely hammered. One swig and she was drunk. I think I should try and find her sometime. Share a drink or something. I don’t think she’ll let me but its worth asking. The captain had a few words with her too but I don’t think she’ll change any time soon.   When we arrived at the village I honestly thought something was wrong. It was late evening but there were no lights from the town or people anywhere. Even the guard posts were left unmanned. The animals are still in their stables and unattended. As it turns out the entire town’s population was gathered around a tavern called the Giant's Hobble. They were listening to a halfling female bard is recounting tales of a knight defeating great monsters with the aid of the luminaires. The actual knight was preforming on the same table with the bard. To get things started, Leo suplexes the table from the rafters to get the knight's attention. It wasn’t the most orthodox way but it worked.   The knight's name is Ledric the Leader, the halfling is named Stanza. Here we learned that we are going to fight a large night sky colored blob giant that sucks the life out of the creatures that touch it. We had to get Ledric to look good so we had to leave the last shot to him to finish off the creature. Everyone else seemed annoyed but that’s just how things are. To get some good information we moved out to preview the battlefield before the fight the next day. The area is filled with large black and white naturally forming spikes. The white is actually large stools on the stones and considering some of the stones were 30 plus feet, the creatures that deposited them must have been pretty large. Leo deduced that they should be human sized but that they were avian in nature. As we snuck further in we came across some tar. It’s necrotic to the touch. Turns out our opponent would be a dunewick giant. After that information, we returned back to the tavern and retired for the night.   The next day, we tried to leave a crowd tried to come with us. Pretty sure it was like half the population of the village but White Sun convinced most of them to stay home. Only the brave ones came along. Brave being mostly those who don't have families or young kids so only around 30-40 people. Along the way we were stopped by some large tar covered harpies but we scared them off. By we, I mean mostly Ilelynn. The crowd kept following but under the Ilelynns spell so we would remain undetected. Well, mostly everyone aside from Ledric. He was stomping along trying to look cool but he was really the only person making a lot of noise.   Eventually we arrived and found this large, giant with oozing blobs of that necrotic tar. It did look like the night sky, a dark black and purple with bright sparkles in it. If you excluded the skeletons in it you might have even called it beautiful. Unfortunately we did eventually end it. Int went down but luckily he was the only one to go down. That creature really did a number on them. Luckily I positioned myself to be mostly safe but I did get hit with some of its narcotic sprays. It stung but it wasn’t too bad. Barely an injury. White Sun eventually delivered the final blow and called Ledric in to finish it off. He didn’t actually hit it though. Instead it bled out, dissipating into a sky, making it look like a clear starry night for a brief moment before vanishing. We still got paid pretty well too. Oh and we did kill the harpies. They came back to fight us but they died pretty quickly. I took one of the bodies and Ilelynn took a live one. Unfortunately it was killed when we got back but there’s not much that we could do about that. I’m going to head off soon to deliver my own body to Midas. Apparently he buys these things. Of course I am keeping the head.   Aside from this mission, this new strength is useful. I can jump great distances and traverse rough terrain with ease. It should be useful for positioning myself in battle as it did in this one. I kept over 40 feet across a chasm without issue. One day. I’ll make it. I’ll make it to where I want to be and then reach even higher.   Session 7   Grab 1 vial of tar of a dunewick giant. A body of a harpy, 200 gold. 50 gold for the Volley Crossbow Sell   Damage Done: +4/+7, +14/+4, +12/+0, +12/+9/+7,   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: +12 necrotic,   HP Healed:   Times Down:   Natural 1s: Nat 1 to hit.   Natural 20s: 20 to hit the giant, Nat 20 to hit a harpy.

On Sparing and Magic
3/26/2021

So, today, tested new abilities with Romilius. It went fairly well. I think. We figured out how to use our new found powers using Romilius' magic and a rather large bon fire. The power seems to absorb the elements and allows us to reroute some of that energy back out. It's redirected power isn't very strong but it would be a good temporary shield against the elements. A potential life saver if I ever face another dragon. It's just alittle weird while using it. To activate it feels like flexing a muscle but instead its your mind. It's just a little strange. I've never had magic before but I don't think I really want to find out more. Just not my path you know?   Oh, we also had a spar. Unfortunately I didn't get to use my maul. Romilius went down before I could use it but this new strength of mine is effective. I'm capable of far more then I thought I could do. One day, I'll fight him again and use the maul. Or maybe I should find someone else? Furthering this strength must take priority. The goal of being simply strong is within reach.     RP Romilius 4 3/21/2021 to 3/26/2021

The Elements of Surprise
3/21/20

This one was a large mission. Not because of the contents of the mission but more so the amount of luminaries that were hired. The mission was just an Eden research group called, Mynus Laboratories: The Owlchemists of Eden, Specialists in Planar Travel and Other Theoretical Interdimensional Research, to help protect them in the event that their research missioned failed. It was clearly needed as the researchers are pale and clearly have not been out in awhile. In fact we headed out at night since they're so fragile and skin sensitive that the sun would burn them badly. Also, we were headed to the explosion point at the center of 3 points of energy, the same locations as the famous Obelisks the Luminaries have been chasing for awhile. The heads of research were a bald tabaxi named Geek, pronounces Yeek and Evan Zoch, a Loxidon.   Alright, the team though. First of the new faces is Tyrannus, a 6'6" tall green spiked lizard folk with many glowing runes on his body. He sees quite prideful. He holds quite a bit to titles. Annihilator, destroyer, heart breaker, other death and destruction things. Next is Jel, 5'5" changeling in a red dress with blue glowing eyes. Clearly a magic caster. Last of the new faces is Montrose Agthanis, a red tiefling with black hair with white tips. He's heavily tattooed in infernal and wears a great coat. He's fancily dressed much like Midas was during last month's dragon mission.   The rest of the group consisted of Liberty, Old Man Mason with his white dreadlocks, Glaw, Ilelynn plus Fred, Romilius, and Mushroom who was wearing Tori No Yoroi. I'm a bit worried for Mushroom. She doesn't seem to be herself after the dragon mission but I'm sure she'll get through it. She's been a Luminary longer then me.   The actual mission though. It was like a cruise on the ship, Might of Mynus. The dinning hall is really pleasurable. The music, memorable. The people, friendly. My companions in the hall, Tyrannus, Old Man Mason, Mushroom, Montrose Agthanis, and Mushroom, joys to be around. Tyrannus the Indomitable is full of stories. He has apparently beat 7 enemies at the same time although I, Mason, and Montrose think they may have been goblins. Montrose is clearly of a higher standing. He's a perfect foil to Tyrannus. Old Man Mason is a pretty happy guy. Despite being at sea he seemed to enjoy himself greatly. He took up Jules', a tabaxi girl, drinking challenge. He may have lost the the rest of the night was a joy.   It was even better when a researcher named Fang asked us to deliver a love letter to his crush Merri, a Tabaxi with White Fur and a grey dress. The Loxidon was attempting to woo a girl who already had another date, a large orange gold Leonin named Cravis. Regardless, Mason and Montrose and I come up with a plans to help him out. While Tyrannus was drinking Cravis' drinks and deems him more worthy then Fang based on size, Mason and Montrose contemplate pushing Cravis off a ship. I may have offered more ideas including pushing Cravis off, switching Fang's bad letter to be Cravis' and writing a new letter for Fang. In the end, Tyrannus just announces that we are searching for Merri. She shows up and Montrose makes Cravis out to be a suspicious person. In his story, Cravis the reason the Luminaries are here. A murderer who kills women, children, and dogs. Fang on the other hand is now a sleeper agent for the Luminaires. Merri is directed to head to fang and she gladly does so. I don't blame her. If I was told all that I would be avoiding that person too.   Well, after sending Merri off to Fang, Montrose escorted Cravis out along with Mason. I went to grab a few drinks and then there's the sound of a fight outside and I walk out to Old Man Mason, Montrose, and a crying, slightly bruised, Chavis hugging. The rest of the party also showed up, drawn by the sounds of combat. The night ended with Glaw healing Cravis's punched out face and one too many drinks on my part.   The next day was the actual mission but compared to Praxalandos, it was much more lack luster. We saw a storm form in the sky and a deep whirlpool open down below. A sea serpent emerged from the whirlpool and an air tempest creature up in the sky descended. The ship was torn apart as the researchers try and send mithril grappling hooks up into the sky. Some of us are sucked down and others are sent up into the sky. I was sent up and I found my opponent with the tempest creature made of thunder clouds and lightning. A glowing essesnce seemed to power it's center and lightning escaped it's skull like face. The clouds froze up, held together by whatever magical force this creature held.   The fight against it though, was hard but not a balancing act for me. Mason became large and started punching it, Glaw used spells and his strength, Romilius his own magic, and Mushroom sent magic missiles into it. I spent the fight harvesting multiple mithril hooks. As I learned beforehand, mithril is an effective weapon against such magical creatures. The fight seemed hard for the others though. Romilius went down and I think Glaw, Mushroom, and Mason were the same. In the end I beat it to death with a mithril hook that flew up with us from the ship. As I took it's essence from it's form on the hook the clouds began to unharden and we fell to the ocean below where we were rescued by the researchers. I did grab a few more hooks for a total of three.   This mission, was hard but not anything too difficult. It was a cruise. The mission paid well though. The scavenged mithril hooks, 300 gold, and an interesting power that the storm stuck with me. I don't know how effective this power is but I wish to use it. Something else to try with my new found strength. I'll keep a hook around but for the other two, they will make great weapons. The world knows I need it and so does everyone else.     Grab 3 mithril Hooks. Gain 300 gp. Boon: Eye of the Storm, Once per short rest you can cast absorb elements.   Session 6   Damage Done: (Has Resistance Nonmagic) +6/+2, +0/+5, +2/+2, +0/+11   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: +4, +6, +5, +5, +4   HP Healed:   Times Down:   Natural 1s: 1 to attack with heavy crossbow   Natural 20s: Nat 20 to save on lightning   Level up to 7. Uneasy Lies The Head
3/20/2021

This is easily the most exciting mission so far. An actual dragon. I am one who has killed a dragon. It wasn't my goal but I am certain my name will go down in history. Avgift Kopparvingar Dharok, Dragon Slayer. It's got a ring to it I think.   So the mission was about heading to Kinzokolos to act as a strike force to kill the golden dragon Praxalandos as requested by the Dragonborn Emperors, Augustine and Nabunuti. I was one of many Luminaries sent to defeat the dragon and his armies. We rode the Dragon Tide, the new Luminary flagship made from a dragon. I don't know why its the "new" flagship. Don't know what happened to the old one but this ship looked amazing. It was made from the bones of a dragon. I'd love to harvest that ship but I can't. Still a fine vessel to look at though.   When we landed on Kinzokolos, we are transported in barrels through to the capital, presumably to avoid enemy spies. We got a good look at a ruined metallic city before we arrive in the capital. Just a smoldering ruin of despair. In the capital, Metallic and chromatic dragonborn, united to attack the dragon, stood in great numbers side by side. I remember Clovia talking about the struggles between the two but there was no sign of that here. The two emperors of the dragonborn are the ones leading the combined Luminary and Dragonborn forces. The team I was assigned to consisted of Taloc, a large orc wearing wolf skins and owns a horse names Ot'lin, Midas, a golden tielfing with fancily embroiled clothes, Abigail, a muscularly tiefling with a metallic arm and purple skin, and Mushroom, a human sorcerer with her purple outfit. Mostly new faces to me but they all seemed competent. A plethora of spells were cast before the battle, increasing vitality.   We were placed in a tower containing the anti-dragon weapon when the battle began. The trebuchet , containing a metallic ball with sharp metallic blades in it, fired off the weapon, slicing the gold dragon's wings off. He crashed into our tower where we faced off against the beast in the center of a firestorm as the Dragonborn army enganged the Kobolds who followed Praxalandos. The battle was hard fought. Mushroom went down in the first breath of fire but was quickly resuscitated. As the battle wore on, Taloc and Abigail went down. Magic was used to revive them but then Midas and Abigail again, fell unconscious. To make things worse, winged kobolds came down from the sky. I honestly thought I was going to die. A spell was cast upon me as I fought against the kobolds and I found myself in some unknown plane or maybe the ideal world the dragon dreamed of. Legions of slaves serving the dragon who sat upon a mountain of riches. As quickly as I arrived, I returned to the other world. The party lay defeated. Abigail's corpse lay sprawled out, Midas's chest was being dug open by the dragon, and the smoldering flames of dragon breath were present upon Mushroom and Taloc. Several kobolds were still around and they moved for me upon my return. My own injuries were not light either. My vision tipped a little for a bit but I realized then, that this is what treading the thin path was. Life balanced on an edge. I didn't know that I missed it so much.   With that realization, I saw my chance, dodging the kobold's wild swings, I charged the bloodied dragon, and fired bolts into it's eye. The second shot flew deep and killed it. The kobolds, seeing their master fall, fled. After that, I rushed forward to stabilize the others. As I did so, the dragon's body began to ignite, the flames being pulled into Midas' body. The dragon was quickly reduced to ashes. It must be some sort of dragon thing. First time I've killed one so I can't say if it's the norm.   Midas was the first to regain his consciousness. Just in time as the Emperors came as the firestorm disappeared. The Gold Dragonborn Emperor, gave us his sword Jindoboro, and the other, the White Emperor, a white wolf pelt called Alpha Viribus. An additional prize, a blue kimono with fancy emboriderment called Tori no Yoroi, as also given to us. I belive that it goes without saying but I took Alpha Viribus. My owlbear furs got absolutely tarnished in the fight. It's not a bad thing. These furs are much softer, much warmer, then one would think. They also made me feel lighter, faster, stronger. Taloc took Jindoboro and Mushroom took Tori No Yoroi. We were also paid 350 gold for our troubles. I may have spend a bit on some nets and a Kinzokolos style maul. I now have the strength and power to do things I never thought I could have before. A power I'll have to dedicated myself to use well. To be known as someone who is simply strong. That is now what I wish.   Living in the moment, I think I'll look to the future. There's more to be done.       Gain 350 GP. Alpha Viribus. Five low quality kobold Katanas. Dragon Slayer Boon.   Session 5   Damage Done: +0/+9, +7/+7, +0/+8 , +7/+3/+0, +7/+22   Damage done by Allies:   Damage done by Enemies: +30 Fire, +20, +20, +14, +6   HP Healed: Temp hp +5, +8   Times Down:   Natural 1s:   Natural 20s: Nat 20 to save dragon breath, Nat 20 to attack (Deals 8 cause Rolled a 1), Nat 20 to Kill Prax.

On The Golden Shores
3/20/2021

The Golden Shores. A nice little town in northern Morgannwg that I spent my time there. It wasn't anything too special. Just a normal town but peaceful enough to relax. It's got some pretty good bread too. The bakery is skilled.   Ilelynn came along too to deliver the Pug. More of an interesting person then initially thought. She is not as broken as she seems. Of course it still shines through but at least her sense of humor is still there.   She seemed interested on the future downfall of the dwarves. In my opinion, almost a guaranteed wipe out by the Orcs. Didn't have the heart to say that they'll probably go extinct if the dwarves don't win. What a terrifying thought. Being the last of my kind.   In other news, finally figured out what that district run by Midas is called. Guilded Cove. Didn't really expand too much about Midas but I guess that's more for me to find out.   Aside from her, I managed to clean that monster's skull off pretty well. Its a clean white now. When I get back this is definitely going on the shelf. It's just such a nice prize.     RP Ilelynn 2 3/17/2021 3/20/2021

A Stroll Through the Woods
3/13/21

Today, or rather these few days, was truly a blessed time. So many sights! So many gains. It was, glorious. I got quite a bit out of it. Oh! Right. The mission was mapping out Morgannwg’s Forest. Well, more of it anyway.   So the team for this mission was Ilelynn, the all black wearing half elf. She had with her a bald eagle named Fred. Didn’t know she had pets but he seems friendly enough. Next we have Nuvian, a dark elf with a red cloak and a mechanical leg. A man whos clearly seen better days. Next we got Leo, the alcoholic half elf, and human wizard, Emrys. Honestly he could of probably been a good fighter with his height. he looks around, 6' 1" with blonde hair. Then again he is pretty formal and seems much like a scholar. Normal magic caster. He also seems to be pretty level headed as well. As much as Ilelynn is anyway.   So I think we were greeted by Luthric the Overseer. Fancy armor and all that. I think he's the same guy as last time but I don't remember all that well.   Well aside from that, Leo tried to give one of the guards alcohol before we entered. I'm not sure if she was drunk or not but knowing her, she probably was. I tried what she was drinking and it is one of the stronger drinks I've ever had. I think I want to ask her for more sometime.   Anyhow, the first area was just an apple orchard. Our concern was unwarranted. It was just apple trees. Normal trees. Juicy, sweet, delicious, apples. I took a few back. Maybe Romilius can find a way to farm these things. Fun times were not to last though. We were met by the smell of fresh corpses in the next area. It was a field of death and standing in the middle were ghostly avatars. Tall four legged, two armed fey creatures with skin coming off in tendrils. A dark ethereal, glow seems to radiate from them. They say they shepherd the dead and as long as we didn't disturb the corpses, they wouldn't attack us. Thankfully, Emrys quickly mapped it out. I don't think that we would have won against those creatures. The map however, is just as buggy as last time. The previous area wasn't mapped but it doesn't seem to map out the older area. It seems that we will have to leave that to some other party.   In the next area we came across a beige pug. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Her name is Cinnamon, as discovered by Ilelynn who can talk to animals. We brought her with us as we traversed the forest figuring we could bring her out when we left.   Next area was a clearing with Quicklings. The others seemed to be wary of them as they were fast and difficult to hit. I'd agree. I like to think that I had good eyes but these things were just blurs. Needless to say, we left the area quietly.   After that we had the most eventful part of the trip. We arrived at the opening of a cave. Very different to the last cave. This one had cyan glowing mushrooms that screamed magic and "hey come grab me." So I grabbed a couple of these mushrooms surrounding the opening of a cave. Again, don't really know what these to but they'll probably sell well. Maybe Romilius will find a use or something.   Anyway, we heard a voice calling to us from within the cave. We believed it to be a maiden and so we entered. The glowing mushrooms lead down into the tunnel and decorated the entirety of every passage. In several areas within the cave there was an interesting green liquid. It was a sort of acid. Magical considering the way it glowed and all that. Ha. I should know. I got a bit of it on me as well. Burns but nothing that a little rest would take care of. At the end of all this there'll probably be no scar. I should invest in acid proofing the backpack though. Maybe some jars for collecting liquids too. I have to expand my ability to harvest things.   The cave had some stranger and more deadly mushrooms. There was a suspended spherical mushroom. It tried to grab Leo with its sinews. Also figured out that it explodes with spores when touched. Emrys and Nuvian had a bit of a problem with the blasts. The entire cave was filled with the things. Next up were some wolf like mushrooms. They could move on their own and looked similar to wolves but made out of mushrooms and vines. We didn't touch them immediately but they came at us once Nuvian blew up an acid pit. I wasn't there initially as I got stuck in a pit with one of the mushrooms but when I climbed out there was a fight going on behind us and in front of us. Luckily, I don't think that any of them saw me trying to get out. At least I hope so. It was a little embarrassing.   Well, when I got out I helped kill a few of the wolf shrooms. Strange thing is that the creature we thought was the maiden reacted with pain. We later learned, after moving through an extremely claustrophobic area in the cave, that it was connected to all of the mushrooms in the area. That part of the cave though. Everyone panicked. Emrys teleported face first into a wall. Leo got out chasing alcohol. I helped pull Nuvian out, helping him after he pushed me through. Thankfully the ex Maiden just teleported us back out to the front of the cave after pulling the spores from Emrys and Nuvian.   We took a break outside of the cave before continuing to map the area. This is where things got really good. The next area was Will from the last time I was in the forest. He seemed to be burying is treasure this time. It looks like he went forward in time in the forest. I've pretty much accepted that this place has it's own rules. Regardless, it doesn't matter to Will anymore. Ilelynn went up to intimidate him into handing over his treasure. Naturally he refused and declared that he wanted a fight, taunting us. So, Leo shot him, Nuvian blinds him, Leo casted vine growth, and I shot him a couple times with my new handcrossbow, and Ilelynn then finishes him off, bisecting him vertically. After that we split what he had. Nuvian got the man's pirate hat. I took his coin pouch, his 2 scimitars, his shovel and his light crossbow. Leo took the chest after splitting up the 500 gold inside it among ourselves. To finish off that area, Ilelynn pushed him into the hole he dug and I pushed the dirt over his corpse. He was half buried but that was the best we could do since Emrys mapped it pretty quickly.   In the next area we approach a pit of tar. There's a crying creature in the pit, its small and secreting the tar. Apparently its called a boggle. It was crying but we left it there. We considered putting it on the pug after Ilelynn got it but in the end we left it. The next area, there was a new creature. It had five spiky arms and it looked like a mutated molted humanoid. Nuvian said that he fought it before, as in this exact one, so we decided to kill it with a volley. It promptly dies from the spells, bolts, and arrows that pelt it. I take its head as a trophy and help Ilelynn harvest its arms. They seemed to be coated in poison. I should probably ask if she needs help synthesizing the poisons.   After that though, we backtracked pass the Boggle, and then the dead, partially buried pirate and somehow just ended up walking out. Three days have passed out here but only one in the forest. Looks like a gained some time haha! Luthric met us out there and we rested up at the camp. Overall, we earned 110 gold from Luthric. Considering all of the other things we got, I think it was a good haul. Even Cinnamon survived. We, as in me and Ilelynn, returned the pug to the Golden Shores. The owner, Fredrick, was a baby. Apparently the pug traveled back in time. The pug went in with adult Fredrick and then came out when Fredrick was still a child. The ruler of this kingdom was changed. According to the pug, the king was named Morgan something and not the queen Morgana. I honestly can't wait to go back to the forest. It's good the best stories and a sizable paycheck.   Damage Done: Attacking shrooms +7/+20, +12/+10, Attacking WIll, +8/+0/+18, Attacking Spike monster, +5/+7+9   Damage done by Allies: 0   Damage done by Enemies: +7 Acid, +1 bludgeoning,   HP Healed: +8 Short Rest   Times Down: 0   Natural 1s: 0   Natural 20s: 1 to hit a Wolf Shroom, Crit on Will

On The Luminous Arms
3/8/2021

It's around midnight. Or is it morning? I'm not sure. I've spent the entirety of the day trying to figure this out. Much of the weapons that Romilius and I conceived are problematic. The ones that are already well designed are fine. Functional for the shop to sell. The problem is the spring lock mechanisms need a rail to function and that needs more springs. In the end any such mechanism would need a far larger space to accommodate the springs. You could increase the size of the weapon but it would then become awkward to aim and fire. Overall, it's not possible. Not until the springs can be completely uniform and functional at far smaller sizes and deliver the same amount of power. Hopefully it wont disappoint anyone too much. Crossbows remain the best option at range. While doing this though I did realize that minimizing friction on the bolt's rail and tuning the strings even more will result in a more powerful shot. Not a total loss.   Well, Romilius should at least be happy about that. Among the other products, I have the intention to create the poisons I used during those times. Gaseous forms, liquid forms, even traditional poisons through indigestion.   I no longer have and qualms any restraint on making such things. Poison is what got me here. I might as well embrace it. Of course I will still have restraint on using them. I will avoid making such a mistake as I did a decade ago.   Hopefully, the other owners will agree with that too. If they don't allow it I have no problems not making them. It is after all, always an ethical procedure of all involved. It's not my shop either so its not my call anyway haha!   The Luminous Arms. I'll help prop them up.   The plans for the mobile ballista have been finalized. A cost of 250 gold coins. Feasible. Once it's made I'll have to show off to Talys. It'll be fun. Maybe it'll make a good fishing tool. Romilius would probably jump upon the idea. It seems like he's readying for a merchant fleet. Artillery will be used for such a thing. Besides, it's so boring on the islands doing nothing. It's nothing like my time fighting the Orcs or the Drow. Everything is peaceful. Even the missions are relatively nominal in danger. I think I expected too much from the Luminaries. It's so banal. If I keep going like this, I'll end up making an armory. Enough for a small army. Actually. No. That's a wonderful idea.   I'll do just that.     RP Romilius 3. 3/8/21

On Glaw Heddwyn
3/6/2021

Finally did it. I met Glaw. He's a nice guy. A big black Leonin. Met him while I was working on the hand crossbow. I figured that I missed him when I saw no one else was in but nope, just arrived early. We talked for a bit. Mostly on crafts and the like. Apparently he's moving to a new shop as a owner of the Luminous Arms. A co-owned business with Romilius and Ilelynn. I feel like its a much smaller world then it used to be. Romilius must have been moving fast or I just happened along the right time for a weapon's shop. Then again Glaw said Ilelynn came up with it so, yeah.   Well, aside from the coincidences of people I've been meeting, their shop is nice. A bit empty and lacking in variety but nice. Quality works all around. Leather armor and a few weapons but there's going to be plate, scale, and shields soon.   I may have gotten a bit over zealous with the craftsmanship of their works. Spent pretty much the entire time deconstructing their items in my mind. I guess I'll try and learn more about Mr. Heddwyn the next time I see him.     RP Glaw 1   3/5/21 to 3/6/21

On Ilelynn
3/4/2021

This'll be a short one. I decided to run out and enjoy the forest, carving one of the little oaks on the mainland out of a wood scrap I found. Found a nice little cliff to watch the sunset as well. As it was nearing completion I was approached by Ilelynn. A black haired half elf with nine months of Luminary experience. A bit socially awkward but that's alright. She's basically still a child in half elf terms anyway. Well, I say that but she does have some fun toys with her and she's a pretty good shot. Dragon bone is particularly expensive but in the hands of a sharpshooter like her? Perfection.   Oh, anyway she was offering a job to go retrieve some books from her old village which likely no longer exists. She likely carries a great burden. I felt like pressing the matter but I suppose I will find out for myself. I don't know when this she'll be departing but I'm sure she'll send out some note beforehand.   It's a bit strange, having someone offer you a job. Especially when you only worked with them once. Other members of the team she's making is Leo, Glaw, and Valtr. So, should go well? I worked with two so it is a solid line up. Heard good things about Valtr and Glaw as well. Here's to hoping it all goes well and I don't just die from whatever destroyed her village. Let's at least ease her burden.   RP Ilelynn 1 3/2/21 to 3/4/2021

On Clovia Voigt
2/17/21

Clovia is a six foot tall dragonborn who hails from Kinzokolos, a dragonborn nation as apart of the metallic faction. Silver colored. Shiny scales. She seems quite built. Well defined tones. She's my roommate and honestly, I like her. She's a bit stiff but I guess that's to be expected of those pious religious folk. In service of the god and everything. She seems a bit innocent but resolved enough for whatever life lays ahead of her.   You'd think she was a pure warrior with her chainmail but apparently she's a magic caster of some type, capable of healing magic. Her god, Bahamut, likely grants her such powers. Magic... sometimes it really seems to be all the difference in the world.   Clovia joined with a simple purpose. Just get stronger. Fight more, get experience. Not a bad goal.   She seemed interested in my life. Religion, purpose, and history. My answers were similar to Romilius who wondered about my materials and reason for being there. There being the Luminaries and all that.   Clovia also has a pretty good sense of humor. Well rounded with a stomach for drinking but I do want to see her fight. It sounded like she was seeking combat. I should ask her if she did fight. Sword and magic. I hope the future stays bright for her.   Oh, I reminds me I should seek out Glaw. I still haven't done that yet. I really should. Its been awhile and its so lonely just writing in these journals. Maybe I should find Romilius too. Still have to show him the functions of the crossbow.   Sigh... the initative huh....   RP Clovia 1 2/16/21 to 2/17/21

On Talys
2/23/21

Oh shit, probably should have asked for his last name. Well, if he even has one. Ah... well. Talys is a gray colored tiefling, silver hair, around average height. Seems new to the customs here but he's certainly one of the more normal ones if I exclude his fighting style and his flipping of a coin for no apparent reason. Then again he's probably more normal then me ha!   He's a magic caster of some type. Only thing is unlike Clovia who's divine and the normal wizards, this guy cuts himself and uses his blood as some sort of fuel for his magic. Aside from the self-harm style of fighting, he seems pretty level headed. He uses a crossbow, seems familiar with it but not an expert. He's definitely seems more of a melee fighter. Talys can use fire in conjunction with a rapier. His ability to induce blindness would make him formidable indeed. I am curious how he actually fights though. It doesn't sound like he has combat experience. I wonder if I'd win...   Well, even though he's only 21 and apart of the Luminaries for 2 months I believe, he's already fought undead. I guess it's good to see them move fast but I'm a bit disappointed in myself. Here for 158 years and no undead. It's a real shame! Then again, it seems that Talys is from a family of undead hunters so I guess it was handed to him at birth. The man also has a pretty good handle on the Luminaries as well. The names of Jel and Altum came up again. Jel actually doesn't seem to bad. Altum on the other hand is a known criminal so that's good to know. Another Luminary name, William, came up. Talys has a grudge against him since the man broke into the vault Talys was supposed to protect. A prosthetic arm with magical properties and the strength to pin a fire elemental. Perhaps I should be thankful William is on our side.   Overall, Talys seems to be a fun, trustworthy person. Challenged me to a crossbow match. He lost but a good sport about it. Also has some interesting ideas. Perhaps I should invest in a "mobile ballista". A blade shooting ballista sounds more then just fun. Oh and I still have to visit Glaw. Its been months since I agreed to that.   RP Talys 1 2/21/21 to 2/23/21

On Weapons and Romilius
3/2/21

Finally did that showcase to Romilius. Everything is well. No. More then just well. Romilius and I might end up being business partners of sorts. After the showcase he's expressed interest in starting a weapons line. Replicas of other Luminaires but weapons none the less. Making such an arms forge would require a lot of preparation and materials. Molds to be made, weapons to be copied, and materials to be obtained. Essentially figuring out how to make this as cheap and fast as possible is going to be the hardest challenge. Well, that and finding someone who can forge weapons easily. My forging days are long gone. Not that they ever started.   Well, aside from that. I have a few plans on making some things for myself.   First. A hand crossbow. It's small enough to use one handedly and it wouldn't effect how I fight too much.   Second. Mobile Ballista. Although plans for that should be put on hold for more realistic goals.   Third. Upgrading the crossbows. Heavy comes first. Volley second. It's difficult trying to pierce the hides of magical creatures. A higher tension is needed.   Fourth. Poison. I need to synthesize poisons before I start forgetting the formulas. Making a gas canister for the aerial poisons should be higher on my priorities as well.   I've got a long road ahead of me. Hah...   RP Romilius 2 2/28/21 to 3/2/21

The Seer of Tikalona
2/28/21

So, as of the first day. Pretty normal. Writing from a place called Hadwin's temple. We headed to the human nation of Tolteca to see the Great Seer who needed some help in weathering a storm. It's quite strange seeing a nation without proper procedures for such things. Well, I guess human nations do things much more differently then the Dwarves. The Seerer, our contractor, met us and informed us of our mission here. Her name started with an "S" I think? Don't really remember. I was really distracted. Mostly by the weather. Anyway, there was an incoming storm that would destroy the city. Our job is to evacuate the population to the temples which are specifically designed to weather the storm. A storm may come near the half moon. Between two days to a week. Seeing into the future and all that isn't accurate it seems. Warnings unknown, danger unknown. The only thing that is known is that her powers are pretty hit or miss and that there may be a storm is the possibly near or distant future.   As usual I'll start off with the team. First up, William, a normal human wearing normal clothes and a dragonbone prosthetic. It seems that Talys' information is not exaggerated at all. He grappled an elemental. It was an earth one mind you, not a fire like in Talys' story, but still impressive. Oh right back on track. Liberty, a rough looking human woman with a cat familiar called little boy. Why is it called little boy? No clue. I don't want to find out either. There was the usual, White Sun, the shiny gold armored jackal and Mushroom, a small human wand wielding magic caster wearing purple. I... don't know what else to say about her. Not sure if she's even an adult honestly but the Luminaries are strange.   Back to the mission, we arrived at Tikalona, a walled city near the river. Well, wall is putting it lightly. It is more of a fence at a measly 6-7 feet tall. It is made out of stone and it is walkable but I have a hard time seeing this being a real obstacle. Aside from the walls the weather is also terrible. A whiplash of sunny and rainy every other hour. It's not natural. Everyone here says it is but this just doesn't make sense to me.   Day Two   So the weather still sucks. Aside from that this city is pretty nice. Its comfortably warm although deathly humid. I saw it rain and then evaporate as steam as the sun came back out.   The people are friendly and pretty smart. It's colorful here. Blues, greens, yellows, and reds on every building. My exploration of the city was fruitful. The sun seems to be particularly prized as an object of worship and the capital is a place called Tula. That being said it seems like everyone else, minus Mushroom, is not as liked.   Day Four   So, it hit today. The storm suddenly approached, quickly turning the sky black. The evacuation went well. No one lost or injured. For some reason William had a portable boat but that most certainly helped us. The temples held up as the Seer said. The village less so. Some buildings in the lower village were destroyed by the lightning and the winds. The main issue about the whole thing is the large creature that started coming out of the river. Came out while I was keeping watch over the storm. It started destroying the area so naturally, following William's lead, we went ahead and killed it. Overall that went pretty well. Mushroom got hammered pretty badly but she'll recover. I think? Oh she's a Luminary. She'll probably be fine.   Aside from that I gained a scrying mirror. Its pretty cracked but its apparently a magical item. Not that I really know what to do with this. I'm not even really sure how to turn it on. I'm going to put it on the souvenir shelf with the glass when I return to Agarthi.     Damage Done: +9/2 +0 + 12/2 +0 +0 +11/2 +13/2 +6/2 (Killed the mud creature.)   Damage done by Allies: 0   Damage done by Enemies: 0   HP Healed: 0   Times Down: 0   Natural 1s: 0   Natural 20s: 0

Forest of Mystery
2/21/21

I write this from the entrance of a cave in the middle of the forest here. Several of our party have burns from an explosion but no one in danger. We've set up camp here so I'll recount the mission so far.   For this mission we were heading to Morgannwg to explore the fey forest and continue to map it out. The Luminaries did some exploration in the recent past so I guess we'll be adding more to the map. The team for this mission has a few familiar faces. First is Romilius, the skinny bugbear and then White Sun, the white gold bipedal jackal covered in armor. Sun seems a little unnerved by the forest. I heard that some members of previous missions were traumatized by the forest and she must've been one of them.   The other two members for this mission was Mason, an old earth genasi with dreadlocks wearing a yellow straw hat and gray overalls like a farmer. He's even got a walking stick. Apparently he is a rock farmer and he carries a bag of home grown rocks along with him. It's ridiculous but he certainly has some pride of his rocks. He's a strange fellow. As soon as we arrived he rubbed himself in sand. I know that the sea is unpleasant but that was a new level. He even walks around barefoot to be more with the land. He seemed very happy in the forest.   The fifth member of this expedition was Svetlana, a wood elf with short red hair, armed with a rapier.   The delegate, Ludric, led us to the northern edge of the forest and provided us with a map. The map will apparently draw itself as we move through the forest but it doesn't seem to work all the time. It was a bit strange. Mason held the map initially but gave it to White Sun after the map didn't record our findings.   As soon as we entered, Mason and Romilius started their hourglass as time moves strangely in the forest. This was a bit apparent half an hour when in we come across a half elf man named Will dressed in Morgannwg sailor attire digging a hole. He's said that he was looking for his treasure but it looks like someone took it. Disturbingly he doesn't know what day it is but he's been digging for a few hours. With they way time works here its likely shorter then that but I don't know anymore. We left Will alone and didn't see him again. I don't know if he made it out.   After walking for awhile we came across with a giant green frog in the middle of a swampy area. We decided to go around it and avoid fighting it. The entire time it was watching us. Pretty unnerving having something that size look at you.   Next we came across a large pink flower. Much larger then us. Mason climbed a tree to try and peek inside the flower's petals but he couldn't see anything. Svetlana grabbed the flower to try and peek inside but it began to expand. It grew teeth on the petals and glowing eyes on the stem. Turns out the big ol flower was a mimic. White Sun set it on fire and it died after the rest of us starting slicing and shooting. I went to try and harvest the flower mimic but its too burned to be useful. I did get my bolts back though.   A lot of strange things happened today but the strangest had to be watching Mason slowly float down from the tree he was on. Pretty sure Genasi are just stranger then anything else now. Wasn't the only weird thing though. Mason checked his hour glass and it was pretty empty. Romilius' glass however, was half empty. It seems that time here in the forest plays by its own rules.   We then came across some gray skinned cloaked bipedal creatures with hooves and sharp degraded teeth that White Sun lead us to. There are two of them. They seem interested in our map but I don't really know what they are saying. Only Sun, who cast a spell on herself, knew what they are saying. They gave us come directions to go deeper in the forest and map out a more core part. Although they were strange looking the creatures were cordial. Romilius gave them a business card and Mason gave them three of his home grown stones before we parted.   With White Sun still leading the way, we found ourselves at the entrance of the cave I write this from. In front there are some spicy smelling flowers, the cause of the blackened ground and the many burn marks. Romilius cut a flower and it exploded. A few more flowers also exploded as the chain reaction continued through the grove. We harvested the remaining flower parts and their seeds by grabbing the dirt and not the flowers so they don't explode and decided to camp outside of the cave.   It's my watch right now but nothing is happening. The sun hasn't moved at all for almost two hours. Svetlana is up next so I guess I should wake her up. Hopefully it'll be like Romilius' shift and mine where nothing happens. Then again, this forest seems to be full of surprises.   ----------------------------------------   The mission was quite a success. After waking up, Mason cast some sort of spell and we took the appearance of stone as we descended into the cave. A sort of camouflage to make us stealthier but it wasn't really for anything. We came across a single file stone bridge that leads across a cavern. Seems normal right? Wrong. There's a pinkish glowing magical spiral under the bridge that throws off your balance. most of us crawled over the bridge but Svetlana and Mason almost fell off and died. Svetlana transformed into a tiger person and barely got up with the help of Romilius and Mason.   That was just the first half of the bridge too. Gravity goes up on the second half of the bridge but that wasnt too large of a problem. It was just strange watching people fall upwards and hang from the bridge. Personally, I crawled around the bridge, making my way halfway crawling on it and halfway crawling on the underside of the bridge. Gravity returned to normal at the end of the bridge.   Shortly after we left the cave, the grey fey creatures called a gateway, and found ourselves on another side of a forest. The forest here was a silvery glass. The ground and surrounding environment is glass like a mirror. The forest of mirrors surrounded a reflective silver pond. The trees, rocks, and grass broke easily but reformed after a short time. Some trees didn't exist either. We walked through a few like they weren't even there. It was a beautiful, although confusing, place. We spent our time there following a voice and a shadowy image that always ran from us. It was a maiden of the forest according to White Sun and it was confirmed by the figure once we found her. The maiden wanted to test us though. A light wind came in and Romilius and Svetlana disappeared into silvery ponds. Our test was to find the Bugbear and the Elf.   Luckily there were several clues along the way. It seemed like the branches were pointing somewhere. White Sun kept seeing the shadowy figure and Mason was talking to his reflection. All of them led us to a clearing. Mason smashed the ground below him and disappeared through the ground as the plain crumbled into a drop. Romilius and Svetlana were stuck in glass boxes in the pit. Shortly after we freed them the dark figure appeared to us once again. White Sun placed a stone on the ground that belonged to another maiden of the forest. A gift that this maiden seemed to accept from us. After that a way out to the real forest is shown. The mirrored area appears white and silvery blue on the map in contract to the green surrounding it.   Not long after we came across a large fir tree with many eyes at the knots of its bark. It claimed to be the guardian of the forest, Oakenbush. Although he spoke frustratingly slow the guardian was nice. He lead us to the edge of the forest where we came from before returning to his place.   Apparently, we were in the forest for an hour and 18 minutes. Time there was strange but I found it quite pleasant and beautiful. It was relatively peaceful and relaxing. Not to mention Ludric paid us 160 gold for our services and the harvested explosion seeds. I also have a glass shard from the mirrored area. Another souvenir to go with a burnt feather from the war games.   This journey was nice. I'd forgotten how much I missed the forest. Perhaps I should take a look at Agarthi's forest. I've heard its quite vast.   Damage Done: +8+9+0+7   Damage done by Allies: 19 fire   No longer be measuring movement.   Damage done by Enemies: 0   HP Healed: 0   Times Down: 0   Natural 1s: 1 to Harvest the Mimic, 1 to find the time using the sun.   Natural 20s: 20 to not fall victim to the illusion spiral

On Romilius Nomilius Geronimus Decaus
2/15/2021

Romilius Nomilius Geronimus Decaus is an 8 foot tall bugbear who seems to have some sort of ailment. He's incredibly skinny to the point where you have to wonder how he is still alive. I find his body a bit, no, very repulsive. His skin is almost see through and you can almost see his organs working under his skin. Its a bit terrifying. It seems that he will kneel over and die at any moment. Then again he has survived lethal wounds from my crossbow bolts and a ballista. Somehow, he is still alive.   I sought him out after almost killing him in a mock battle. I didn't know much about him but he seems to be a rather nice person. There was plenty of advice given to me. Reasonable, organized, and experienced. In a strange way, I'm thankful that I shot him. Hmm no.   Thankful isn't the right word. That just makes it sound weird. Who'd be thankful that they could kill someone?   More fortunate meetings? Well he did already forgive me and its not like he'll end up reading this. Oh that's right. He did agree on being friends so there's that.   I am sure that we will be able to have a great friendship despite it's start. I have to demonstrate the volley crossbow to him as apart of the apology but it'll work out well I think. It's a shame that I done have the materials to make any improvements on the crossbow for the demonstration. Three low velocity shots are not that impressive. Ah, I'm getting distracted.   Romilius is here, apart of the Luminaries, on behalf of his family. Some servants have accompanied him to the islands. He seems to be loved.   The bugbear gave some good advice too on the Luminaries. The Luminaries Wisteria and Jel are to be avoided as they killed a recruit. Another, Altum, seems to be another source of trouble but it really just sounds like he's a bit misunderstood. On the other side the Luminaires he recommended are Abigail and Emrys as upstanding people. He recommended I see Glaw, a lenonin with a expert hand in craftsmanship. I really should get on with that.   Well that's my ramblings for now. Lucky misfortune.   RP: 2-12-21 to 2-13-21

War Games
8:02 PM

Whew. What a fight! That was a good one. Sigh. Really got a scare today though. Ah it seems that this is rambling on and on. I keep forgetting this is an actual journal entry starting when I joined the Luminaires. May have fallen asleep after the tests but that’s ok. I am doing it now. Future me, past you did good.   So today was a mock battle in the forests of Morgannwg. The new queen is apparently on good terms with the Luminaries of Agarthi so we got invited. The other Luminaries who I accompanied were Arvun, 8 foot Goliath with white furs and a blue gem on his forehead, Romilius, an 8 foot tall bugbear who looks sickly , Leo, a 5'7" halfelf ranger with a crown on her head, White Sun, a 5'4" bipedal white jackle with a gold sheened fur, and Ilelynn, a 5'3" half elf with shiny scale mail.   So when we arrived we were split up into Teams.   The First Team. Team captain: Romilius, Ilelynn, White Sun   The Second Team Team captain: Leo, Arvun, Avgift   Sigh... yeah I was picked last. To be fair I was surrounded either by more imposing and more experienced Luminaries. I don't exactly have the most presence. Sigh... yeah....   Anyway we went in to set up a cave. The goal was for defenders, us, to keep three rings away from the attackers so they couldn’t put them on. We would lose if the attacking team managed to put on all three rings, one on each member of their team. The attacking team would have 48 hours to attack us and win the game. Oh. The other winning condition was knocking the other team unconscious. This probably wouldn’t have happened though.   Anyway, we had a lot of time to plan and prepare. As he said multiple times, Arvun is from Milton in the north. He seemed like a pretty shy guy. It was pretty amusing. I give Arvun 4 javelins since I don't need them. Never been much of a good throw. Leo on the other hand seemed pretty nonchalant. She may be a leader but she certainly doesn’t seem to want it.   Well on to the plan. There are two ballista here in the cave. Leo hid one under a shrub. And the other was out in the open, manned by Arvun. Another plan, humorous I thought, was having Arvun hold a rope with one of the rings tied on the end as bait. I would hold a ring and attempt to keep it from the attacks. The last was thrown to the bottom of the stream which ran through the cave system. Overall, a pretty good plan right?   Well it went poorly. Nothing happened in the first hour which started at noon. A bloated dead rat floats on in on the second hour. On the third hour Arvun began to sharpen a random stone. It was on the fourth hour when a siege ram started to slam against the cave’s gates. The echos of the ram reminds me of the seiges in the under dark.   As soon as the door broke the fighting began. White Sun had quite a bit of armor on her. The bolts I fired pinged off harmlessly and the few that did hit didn’t seem to cause her much harm. I guess magical creatures really do have a far superior advantage to us mortals. Well then again. It could be caulked up to just a bad day. I rolled into the stream on accident, getting my hat soaked. It’s been a few days but its still drying out over there near the window.   Anyway, the attacking team retreated for a bit as we aimed the ballistas at the front. Romilius did end up getting shot by Leo’s ballista though. Arvun however suddenly rushed in as White Sun grabbed the ring on the rope he was holding. Well if I’m honest. Our opponents weren’t idiots. It was really more of a joke. The loss of that ring was to be expected. It would have been funny if it worked though.   As the battle progressed Leo and I held back until Arvun responded that he needed help and we heard a splashing sound from behind us. I rushed forward to help Arvun and Leo went to the ring behind us. I ended up shooting Romilius in the chest which downed him instantly. Luckily he was healed by White Sun so he didn’t die but the Bugbear stabbed Arvun in the ankle before running away.   Let me just say that Ilelynn is terrifying. She appeared behind me without any warning and shot me three times. Really reminding me of my time fighting Drow. She had on the ring from the bottom of the stream. I managed to test the repeater on her but it did not prove to be significantly superior to the newly bought heavy crossbow. The half-elf then stole the ring right off my finger and disappeared through the door. White Sun blocked the way out and even though Leo used some sort of incendiary, the game was pretty much lost at that point. It looks like I’ll find very capable people around here although their character is questionable.   Arvun for example seems to have quite a bit of problems with him. He seems almost possessed when he enters battle. Nothing like the shy man who read notes off his shield. He almost seemed possessed by a mother or a father. Scary but in a different way.   The observer, an orcish woman, says the Luminaries are doomed from our performance. I hope that its not. I really do want to be apart of something. If its not the Luminaries though... I’ll find a different purpose.   For now though, I need to find Romilius. I feel a bit bad for almost killing him. That monstrous anorexic bugbear. Yeah... I should find him.   -Avgift     Enemies Killed: 0   Damage Done: 0+ 8 + 0 + 0 + 22 + 0 +12 + 13   Movement Moved: 115 Feet   Damage done by Allies: -2 (Incendiary Pollen)   Damage done by Enemies: -10-13-10   HP Healed: 0   Times Down: 0   Natural 1s: 1 to hit white sun.
