St Kleros

Arriving at St Kleros the party discovers the town is terrorized by a Night Hag and her shadowy creatures. A march into the Lucerne Hills and a slaying of monsters bring them to her lair where she narrowly escapes. The party returns triumphant.

St Kleros has been beset by an unknown terror that has been killing people in the night in their sleep with no bloodshed. The solution has been turning to nocturnal to avoid being killed, with the populous congregating all through the night. The party arrives and follows some leads, one a prisoner who made the mistake of falling asleep before they arrive. Another is Ann, the awkward town sorcerer and apothocary who offers the party cookies.   The party comes to their best lead when they are attacked by a peryton on two occasions, the pet of a Night Hag lurking in the Lucerne Hills. Venturing into the woods, the party condends with a banderhob, a pack of meazels, and a squad of undead before finding the barren spike of rock the hag called her lair. A battle brings the hag to beg for her life, but is able to escape as soon as the party hesitates, cackling revenge.   In the cave is a chest of electrum, and a number of cave paintings from the extinct Khazar civilization, detailing the Days of the Phoenix 3000-4000 years ago. A number of their constellation recordings are also found, showing that the position of the stars has indeed changed.   They return to St Kleros hailed as heroes.
