Military: Battle
Akvor, Theyosten, Karith, and Jake Silkwood stand amongst the defenders in defiance of the Veliuonan Army, headed by the red dragon team Tyrant. As the battle raged, the party battled the dragon before being defeated and the walls falling with them. Theyosten invoked the star sign Phoenix and himself along with his comrades rose from the ashes. Avverion arrived with the orcish army, and attacking from the south river and hitting the Veliuonan army from the side turning the tide of the battle. Avverion and Lilinith battle Tyrant, but the later is killed in the combat. Tyrant is driven off along with the rest of the Veliuonan host, and Hrad Vidlik holds.
Avverion takes 5 days to ferry down the Krovitya River with the forces of Orisinium. Veliuona arrives on the 27th and sets up siege weaponry to take the outer walls of the city. At the lead of their army is the dragon team callign Tyrant, consisting of an adult red dragon and a Suulatarn elf rider. On the 28th, the attack begins, with the party standing on the wall in preparation for the battle near the drawbridge. They single out Tyrant and the four adventurers do battle on the walls with the red dragon, who after a protracted fight and wounding the beast, are brought low by dragon fire and the wall collapsing along with them. Veliuona is able to breach the outer walls and the fighting moves street to street, slowing the push to the keep as long as possible. The air force is drawn away however towards the riverbanks a mile south of the city with the surprise arrival of a horde of orcs running up the field at the elvish flank. Tyrant engages with the orcish army to try and salvage the flank, bringing ruinous flame upon them. Avverion and Lilinith engage the dragon in the air, before the combatants are driven to ground. Tyrant is able to incapacitate their opponents before being forced to retreat from the battle. Avverion is able to survive his wounds, but Lilinith isn't so fortunate. The four warriors that had fallen on the wall are brought back from the jaws of death by the burning will of the Phoenix reborn. In time to take up arms against the elves that are fighting within the city still, battering on the gates of the keep. Surrounded between the stone walls and the raging orcish force, the elves surrender or abandon the field, with half of their number able to escape. A quarter of their troop are taken prisoner. The orcs suffer relatively limited casualties. The Masovians are down to the last 20% of their original fighting number, and should another attack hit the fortress, the Masovians would be wiped out.
