The Elemental Moons

There are four moons that orbit the World, which also act as the elemental planes in the cosmos around the Material Plane, and they are known as follows:   Char is the Elemental Plane of Fire, and is also the closest of the four. The gravity of the planet causes Char’s geology to be unstable and thus constantly erupting with volcanos deep fiery canyons tearing across the surface. The atmosphere has an unpleasant sulfur yellow color, and choked in smoke. From the World, Char is mostly red of varying shades, with some patches of black and brown rock, rare stable vantage points.   Tethys is the second moon, and is the Elemental Plane of Earth. It is a grey and dusty world, shining a bright white from the World. The surface is rugged, pocketed with craters and dry sea beds, with towering mountains and spires of salt and rock. There is no breathable atmosphere on the surface. Underground, winding passages and chambers move through the hollow moon, some open chambers the size of countries. Breathable air is down within the innards, and is rather habitable.   Third farthest and the brightest of the three is Merida, the Elemental Plane of Water. The moon appears a deep azure blue, its brightness due to the reflecting of it’s moonwide ocean. Merida is a landless sea, habitable from the continent sized coral reefs and plunging down into the trenches, some reaching to the core. Despite immeasurable pressures, this moon has the most life on it. The only solid surface land are colossal glaciers, drifting like clouds visible from the World.   Last and furthest away is the Elemental Plane of Air- Aeronia. This moon appears from a dull grey to a light teal, with streaks of clouds of white screaming quickly across the surface. Aeronia is dotted with hurricanes, both above and below the surface, as tornado winds constantly streak across the gas moon. Lightning constantly dances amongst the clouds, illuminating where the sun cannot shine. Near the solid core is complete darkness, with horrible winds roaring at thousands of miles per hour, easily able to rip flesh from bone. Amongst the chaotic maelstrom, huge stones tumble through the hurricane, providing the only stable ground to stand on on the moon. The coldest and most hostile of the four moons.
