Skypiercer Fortress
Central to Masovia, towering over the rest of the countryside a peak rises into the heavens. Far above the valley of common folk, the sheer crags and cliffs form daunting walls and treacherous paths to the very summit, scraping on the clouds in its stature. At the pinnacle of this mountain a magnificent keep grows out of the stones. It's walls are the color of clouds, its piercing spires azure as a summer sky, rising layer after layer, higher and higher. Skypiercer Fortress reaches to one some of the highest points on the landmass, the very image of pride and hubris, characterizing perfectly the lofty mindset of it's residents.
Skypiercer Fortress is the consolidation of potent magic users from the world over, perhaps only rivaled by the magocracy of Thume north of Impiltur, attracted to the nigh infinite secrets vaulted away in the outstanding security of the castle. To be allowed entry beyond the first boundary is a privilege, an honor not easily earned and borderline useless at that. Deeper within, the eight prismatics of the arcane schools are separated, red through indigo rotating around the central chamber known as the Pinnacle of Knowledge.
Wizards must be of known power and portent to be accepted entry into the interior, with all other fonts of arcanum blemished in their eyes. One crucial part that is focused within the fortress is their hubris and holier-than-thou attitude, their aloofness speaking to their governance over the country of Masovia. As the ruling class of Masovia, residents are afforded nobility in name, but seeing a such a figure is rare. As such, it falls upon the local authorities and the rule of the Duke to handle running a country, indifference felt towards their wizarding overlords. Even if Masovia were to burn to the ground below it, the most Skypiercer would acknowledge of the land below would be the inconvenient smell of smoke.
