Ifrit

As with other genasi, the Ifrit are humanoids wrought of the raw elemental power of the moon Char. This can take the form of being born on or under the influence of the moon, living there long enough to become ingrained in the element, or undergoing a process to leash the element with the individual's body. Due to the tumultuous nature of fire, the transformation is not a pleasant one, with Char being rather inhospitable with its choking air, scorching heat and ever present flames. Those that live on Char for an extended amount of time find that the heat effects them less and less as their bodies acclimate and begin to transform into an Ifrit.   There is a theory that the other three elements are the building blocks of the world, but fire is unique because it is the element of life. Every living being holds some fire within them, with sentient creatures coming to use fire. Myths throughout the various cultures speak of how fire came to mortals, but all end with empasizing the importance of fire. This is all to say that it isn't surprising that humanoids take to becoming Ifrit easier than any other breed of genasi.   The only creatures that cannot be imbued with elemental power are those already claimed by another element. A Undine cannot become an Ifrit not matter how long they stay on Char. A green dragon will not lose its air affinity if it undergoes the ritual. An Azer is already made of Char, and thus cannot be classified as an Ifrit.
