Green Steel
A distinct metal with a dark green color like rusted copper. It is a rare material, primarily found in the area west of the Black Ash Plains around the orcish lands of Orisinium. Green steel is a relatively uninspiring metal on the surface, little luster, barely as hard as iron and difficult to forge. However, the characteristic that makes green steel so demanded is its natural proclivity for enchantment, taking more and heavier loads of magical investment. Due to its attractive nature to the weave, many go out of their way to acquire a green steel weapon and have a wizard pour as many enchantments as possible into it.
Orcs have green steel as a central focus of their culture, a common enough commodity in grey orc lands that even city guards wield it. No small number of orcish mystics learn solely the art of powering green steel items, and become highly desirable masters of their craft. Fortunately, the raiding hordes of green orcs have no such capability, and despite their affection of the stuff, cannot utilize it to its fullest potential.
