Glacier of the White Wyrm
On the northern fringes of Impiltur, past the rugged peaks of the Earthspur Mountains, a vast flat stretch of ice extends for hundreds of miles. This white wasteland is a unique ecology, bringing creatures acclimated to frozen tundra as far south as possible. This strange pocket of foreign fauna is home to the dragon after which the place is named, the reclusive Nymbryxion, who lairs in a icy palace known as the Vaults of Wisdom.
Geography
This glacier sits nestled in the center of the hostile Earthspur Mountains, jagged peaks giving way to the flat ice field. This is the furthest south of the world's glaciers, and is perhaps kept intact by its mystical inhabitant. The easiest way to enter the Glacier is from the north by the sea, where a ship can moor at the base of a two-hundred foot tall cliff, hardly welcoming to explorers with the chilling winds of the sea battering climbers.
In the center of the wasteland, tips of mountains poke out, and forests made of trees built solely of ice increase in density surrounding a great spire rising into the sky. The Vaults of Wisdom is a monolith built of unique blue ice brought by a silver dragon's breath, a delicate and imposing fortress of twisting icicles. The Vaults descend as deep into the Glacier as as high as it rises, and innumerable secrets lay entombed within the mystery shrouded lair. Somewhere within this castle of solitude, one may meet audience with the oldest of silver dragons, Nymbryxion himself.
Fauna & Flora
The Glacier is the furthest south one may find many arctic creatures, most hostile and dangerous. A treacherous cycle of predator eating predator is daily life for the fauna here, as no plant life grows here. Remorhaz, polar bears, packs of winter wolves, and even small tribes of Frost Giants vieing for survival. The Glacier also serves as a constant and easy access point to the Court of Winter in the Feywild, and the frigid fey frolic amid the wasteland.
Despite the good nature of the silver dragon, this chaotic bloodbath is not hindered by the great wyrm. Perhaps the creatures here were brought down as a zoo for the dragon's amusement. Despite the evil nature of many creatures haunting the wasteland, every creature knows and reveres the ruler of the land, and even the most wicked frost giant warlord would bow and obey the whims of the dragon.
