### **History**
Ezio Furlan was born into a poor peasant family in the village of **San Giustino**, on the outskirts of the Leone Republic. As a young man, he demonstrated extraordinary tactical intelligence and impressive physical strength, qualities that set him apart from other boys in the village. Dissatisfied with rural life, Ezio left San Giustino at the age of 15, enlisting as a mercenary to pursue a life of glory and wealth.
His military career led him to join the army of the Leone Republic as a simple soldier. The turning point came during the conflict between the Republic of Lamsedil and the Repubblica del Grifone, a turbulent period that saw Ezio earn a legendary reputation for his courage in battle and his ruthlessness towards his enemies. Within a few years, he rose through the ranks to become Company Captain, commanding over a hundred men. His strategy was simple: strike hard, strike fast, and leave no witnesses.
Ezio met Enrico Dandolo, Sea Prince of Leone during this war. At the time, Enrico was the Monetario (the Republic's Monetary Officer), and the two worked together on secret missions to protect the Lion's commercial interests. Enrico immediately recognized Ezio's potential, and brought him along as Captain of his Personal Guards when he was elected Prince of the Sea.
However, Ezio's past is full of dark areas. It is rumored that he was involved in brutal repression of rebels and pirates, and that some of his superiors mysteriously disappeared during his rise. Despite this, his apparent loyalty to Enrico has made him a pillar of the Republic's security.
### **Character and Personality**
Ezio Furlan is a man of many contradictions: * Apparent Loyalty: Ezio is officially Enrico Dandolo's right-hand man, and his loyalty to the Prince of the Sea is considered unshakeable. However, beneath the surface, his motivations are ambiguous. His connection to Enrico's wife, Teresa Capuleti, puts him in a dangerous position, swinging between loyalty, passion, and personal ambition. * Ruthlessness: Ezio is not a man who shys away from violence. He will do anything to complete a mission, whether it be eliminating a political rival or crushing a rebellion. His reputation for ruthlessness precedes him, so much so that the mere mention of his name strikes fear into the enemies of the Republic. * Brilliant Strategist: Despite his brutal nature, Ezio possesses a sharp and analytical mind. He knows when to act forcefully and when to use diplomacy or treachery. Their relationship is a secret that, if discovered, could destroy not only Ezio's career, but the stability of the Republic. * Enemies of the Republic: Ezio is the sworn enemy of the pirates, smugglers, and rebels who threaten the interests of the Leone Republic. However, not all of his enemies are external: some of the aristocratic families of the Maggior Consiglio see Ezio as an obstacle to their interests and plot against him.### **Abilities and Powers**
Ezio is an eighth-level warrior, with a skill set that makes him one of the Republic’s most dangerous figures:
* Master of Combat: Ezio excels at melee combat. His favored weapon is an **enchanted bastard sword** called the “Lion’s Claw”, which deals additional damage to unarmed enemies. He is also a master of defensive techniques, often using a shield to block critical attacks. * Advanced Military Training: As a former war officer, Ezio is well-versed in battle tactics, sieges, and naval maneuvers. He can command a unit of soldiers with deadly precision. * Unerring Perception: Through years of experience in the field, Ezio has developed a sixth sense for danger. He is very difficult to catch off guard, and can often predict the moves of his opponents. * Military Charisma: Ezio has a commanding presence that inspires troops to follow him to the death.
