Utility

Weavenet provides an entirely new underlying webscape. Experienced users can infiltrate incredibly secure servers; on the Weavenet the cyber scape resembles a physically understandable location, with a user being able to walk, talk, and shoot digitally.
A centralized hub known as the Archtree provides a means to access numerous public servers or begin to access private servers.
Everyone carries the Weavenet in their bodies, knowingly or not, once they have any cybernetic implant. Wetware assassins are capable of getting into the Weavenet and hijacking someone's brain, killing them from within in a way that looks accidental. Of course given the selective nature of the occupation, many killers leave calling cards anyway.
UTILIjacks allow a user to interface with just about any piece of technology, but it takes implants and advanced work to be able to do this well.

Social Impact

Weavenet has had an unmeasurable impact on the world that is capable of using it. Providing a secondary "deep ocean" web that is woven supernaturally into regular web navigation and tied into the fabric of existence, Weavenet enables privacy to a degree unknown before even with the most stringent firewalls.
Of course, much illegal activity takes place on the Weavenet. Hackers, wetware killers and cults are the least of your problems in the Weavenet and that's before you stumble into what is quietly called the "Dull Zone."

Access & Availability

Accessible to anyone with an implant whether they know it or not. Weavenet need only be accessed with a simple neuro command, and then you're in.

Complexity

Quite complex.
Worst of all is the existing "Dull Zone", a dark depth where accessible data becomes a nightmarish mire. Hackers who can handle the Dull Zone are few, and they keep their identity secret for their own safety. Without proper skill, you can sink yourself into a soundless eternity, devoured by a snapping storm of data that breaks your atoms down into ones and zeroes.
