Imprinting
Imprinting is the unique means in which homunculi and those with Homunculus blood aquire their genetic traits. Born almost completely featureless, Homunculus starts life as something akin to a near-featureless humanoid-shaped golem. the coloration of their eyes, hair color, and other physical traits normally determined by genetics are instead determined by who they perceive in their surroundings. This is known as "Imprinting".
Say, if a Homunculus infant were to fall in the hands of a community of Saytrs, the infant would take on the physical characteristics similar to those who adopt and raise them instead of their birth parents.
Homunculi are magically infused with the ability to physically adapt to tasks over time. These manifest via physical mutations of their body or supernatural abilities to aid them. Say if a Homunculus has joined a druidic circle, over time they may grow horns and animal ears to gain better hearing and empathy with the animals. A homunculus of royalty or nobility may take on a physically more charming appearance with a more prominent voice.
Half-Fae and Half-Orcs also aquire this trait though to a limited degree. Half races keep the general shape and form of their non-homunculus race. Half Elvirr will still grow to be tall with pointed ears and three pronged feet. Their imprinting comes in the form of determing traits such as hair color, eyes, nose structure, and skin tone. In the case of Half Elvirr, they could have red hair with freckles, a fuller physique, and gazelle horns. None of which are traditional traits of an Elvirr but a amalgimation of other races. This ability to select the best features of ones surroundings give the half-races a sence of racial androgyny that many races consider attractive.
