The Surface Dwellers
Those Who Praise the Sun and the Sky
The surface dwellers consist of two ethnicities: the Ābali and the Bādi peoples. The Bādi people worship the Sky and possess extreme speed granted to them by the Sky. They live in nomadic tribes, traveling from watering hole to watering hole, sometimes taking refuge in Ābali villages if neither tribe nor village holds grudges or racism towards the other. The Ābali people reside in villages and cities, controlled by a central and absolute monarch. They worship the Sun and were granted the ability to breathe fire. Very often will the two trade for goods. Some tribes, however, are more hostile than others and will attack Ābali villages or soldier encampments.
The surface dwellers derived from the cave dwellers, legend holding that when the Sun and Sky asked for forgiveness many of the cave dwellers left for the surface to praise them. There are still many cave dwellers below the surface, but it is rare when the two meet. The surface dwellers believe that anyone who enters the caves should be executed, and such is the same for the cave dwellers is light ever touches their skin.
