Episode 3: candles, candles for sale!

General Summary

After Finn and Barry made sure they had a place to spend the night Finn decided that it was a good time for them to have a beer. As their two beers got served, Finn directly chugged his down. Barry, being some what hesitant, in drinking his first alcoholic beverage decided to just take a nip. The Taste did not appeal to him all that much as he shoved the beer towards Finn. With this being the first time, since they escaped prison, that the two off them had some time to talk, Finn asked Barry what happened to him back in Orgrimmar.   Barry explained that his home Village, Bloodhoof Village was suffering because something or someone had corrupted their well. The well was very important to them the water of the well was being used in holy rituals to please the gods and in rituals done to cure the wounded. Ever since the well got corrupted, his tribe was suffering ever since. Because he was to young to hunt, he had suggested to the tribe leader that he wanted to go on a quest to discover more about the corruption. His best shot for this was most likely going to be Orgrimmar, seeing how this is the orc capitol and orc warlocks are experts about corruption.   " So what made you end up in prison, you don't seem like a bad guy to me?" Finn said.   Barry replied: " I killed a guard, but... but... it was never my intention. I Just saw how two orc guards were trying to rape an elf female and i could not let that happen. So I ran at them trying to push them away, but in that moment i skewered one of them onto my horns piercing his heart."   " I am sorry to hear that, but i don't think going back to Ogrimmar is an option. So what are you going to do now then Barry?" Finn said   I can not go back to my tribe before i know what is causing the corruption to the well and how to cure the corruption. Therefore i want to travel north, all the way to Winterspring. I heard there is an exiled orc warlock living somewhere over there. I know it is a long shot, but he might be able to aid me. So what are you to do now then Finn?" Barry said.   "I do not know, i would love to find my father, i got no clue where he is... so if you don't mind i would gladly join you on your journey to Winterspring." Finn said Barry nodded in agreement. After the drink the two off went for a good long rest, so they could continue their long trip north towards the cold Winterspring.   Since the travel to Winterspring they decided to rent some horses from the locale stable. Upon their arrival at the stables, a worried looking dwarf approached them. " If you are here to rent horses i might have a good deal for you. Something is killing my horses and i cant let that happen to my little babies. If you manage to get rid of whatever is killing my horses today and then you could borrow my horses for free. Cause i assume you are here to rent some horses are you not?" The dwarf said   Finn put his hands in his pocket trying to feel how well he was doing on his coins. He did not feel many coins and decided it might be a good option to save some coin on these horses.   "You got yourself a deal, we deal with your problem and then we get to take the horses to Winterspring for free. What was your name again?" Finn asked.   "Oh, i am sorry. I did not introduce myself. I was to worried about the horses. I am Balfor Boreaus, the local stable keeper. Thanks for deciding to deal with my problem. I advice you to search the Woods to the east of this place first, that is where i found a dead horse the last time. I Will see you tomorrow morning to give you your reward" Balfor Said.   Finn and Barry knew there was no time to lose and directly ventured into the Woods to the east. After about an hour travel Finn noticed a dead horse. Seeing how this fits the story of Balfor perfectly Finn decided to walk over to the dead horse to inspect it.   Finn bowed over the horse, having a deal thinking look on his face. Circled around the horse. Opened the horse mouth and then said to Barry. "Oke i am done investigating this horse."   "So what dis you discover?" Barry asked.   "I discovered that this horse is dead." Finn stated.   After this great discovery by Finn, they knew they were heading into the right direction. After about 2 hours of walking they think they heard a sound coming from behind the bushes. With a Quick look Finn spotter it being a group of orcs, they looked hurt. Many plans ran through Finn's mind and he might have had the perfect idea.   Finn told Barry to hide nearby, Finn then grabbed all 10 candles out of his backpack and approached the group of orcs, while loud shouting:"Candles , candles for sale! Get your candles now!" Finn however seemed to have not noticed these were the same orcs that chased him and Barry threw the Woods the day before. Unfortunately the orcs, even though some of them severely wounded did not forget. They instantly jumped onto the candle salesman trying to take him down.   After a tough initial beating Finn and Barry manager to turn the fight. They took down 3 of the 4 orcs. The last orc Who was missing an arm manager to ran off.   Finn inspected the corpses of the orcs. He noticed big bite marks on them. He also manager to find a trail of whatever caused these bite marks. Barry and Finn followed the trail for about an hour. Being so busy trying to follow the trail, Finn did not notice how he he got jumped by a massive direwolf.   The fight with the orcs and the direwolf jumping him caused Finn to lose consciousness. Without hesitation Barry jumped between the massive direwolf and his fallen friend. Barry tried to pose as friendly as he could trying to avoid further confrontation. His approach seemed successfully the direwolf showed some teeth and growled at him before walking away towards 2 young cubs.   Barry patched up his friend by feeding him some berry. They decided they needed to take some rest back in town to strengthen up before deciding what they would do.   Coming back to the town the 2 realised they should also protect the horses over the night. Therefore they could not just sleep in the inn. Finn had a plan. They would gather empty bottles that they would string together with the rope they had and would set this as an alarm around the stables. If something approached it should make noise alerting them to project the horses.   The night was quiet and the next day they decided to go back towards the direwolf. However after about 3 hours Finn noticed he had forgotten his rope that he used for the alarm. Finn went back as Barry was cooking a meal to lure the wolves with. Barry's lure worked great, maybe a bit to great as the hungry direwolf and the two cubs were already drawn to this fantastic prepared stew while Finn was still away to get his rope. Barry tried to fight the wolves off, however the direwolf was to strong to handle all by himself. Luckily for him Finn, Who had been running, soon joined the fight. Together they thought fierce against the wolves. Barry however having fought half the fight on his own did fall unconscious towards the end of the fight, right before Finn manager to strike the final blow to the mother direwolf.   Seeing their mother being killed the two young cubs ran off, giving Finn time to help Barry back on his feet. Knowing they would need proof that they dealt with source of the dead horses, the best proof to this would be the direwolves head, therefore Finn cut of the head of the dead Direwolf. They wanted to capture the cubs, since killing two young motherless wolves felt cruel to them. However the stew Barry had prepared was already eaten by the young cubs and he had no other meat. Barry and Finn looked around to see if they could find anything that might work as bait. the only meat they could find was of the cubs own mother. Because feeding the wolf cubs their own mother was way less cruel to them they set a trap with the Mothers Meat as bait and waited for a while, the trap worked. one cub fell into the pit. What followed was a long struggle with the wolves that instinctually kept trying to break free, in this Struggle the already wounded Finn fell unconscious ones more. But he managed to get back up on his feet after a short time. After that they managed to catch the two cubs.   Having captured the two cubs they headed back to town. Balfor was not at the stables so the two decided to tie the wolves to a nearby tree while they would sleep to deliver the head and the two cubs the next day. Barry tied the two cubs to a tree with his best possible knot, while Finn prepared a comfortable place in the stables. They both had an amazing night sleep, as they woke up the next day they went out of the stables, only to notice the two cubs had escaped the knot. It turned out Barry's hooves were not ideal for tying a knot. However the Direwolves head was enough for Balfor, however Balfor was not happy that they were late with solving his problems. Balfor was only willing to give them a discount on the horses they wanted to rent in stead of lending them for free because of this. Finn and Barry agreed, also knowing they had let 2 cubs escape nearby his stables.   They agreed on a lowered payment of 1 gold for a 4 day rented period. With that Barry and Finn rode off North on their way to Winterspring.
