Vampire
Immortal masters of undeath, vampires sustain themselves by feeding off the living. In appearance, they appear very similar to their living selves, but with deathly pale skin and large fangs. They prowl dark nights looking for creatures on which to feed. They can sustain themselves on any blood, but for whatever reason they prefer humanoid blood. This need for blood often leads to vampires having whole networks of minions and informants who subtly kidnap people no one will miss. Managing this network requires a great deal of strategic thought, which leads to vampires being very cold and calculating. If they can keep themselves fed, a vampire has all of eternity to do whatever it wants. Many choose to master their craft, whether that is wizardry, martial prowess or whatever else. Particularly old vampires may have time to learn multiple disciplines, becoming dangerously versatile.
While they will not die if starved, they become feral, unthinking monsters who will eat anything they can get their claws on. These feral vampires are both more and less dangerous than a well fed one. They are less dangerous because they lack the calculating precision of a sated vampire but are more dangerous because they will not back down. Vampires value their unlives too much to risk them in difficult fights, but a feral vampire will rip into its prey even as it is being stabbed and burned.
Basic Information
Dietary Needs and Habits
Vampires sustain themselves on the blood of the living. While any fresh blood will sustain them, they have a preference for humanoid blood. In order to obtain this blood, most vampires will stalk the night and hunt humanoids. They use their innate magical charms to lure lone humanoids into the dark, where they pounce on them and drain them of blood. They then use that same charm to make the victim forget what happened. If questioned as to what happened, they will believe something innocent, like they saw a stray cat and went to pet it or fell and got a scratch on their neck.
Some vampires still cling to their morals from life however, and refuse to feed from the unwilling. However hard they cling to these morals, they still need blood. These vampires reveal their secret to a handful of close confidants, and use their powers to pay for these friend's aid. They will feed off this friend, then keep watch over their house at night or perform tasks to help the friend.
Behaviour
When a mortal is infected with vampirism, the changes start even before they die. They get a taste for blood, their tempers get shorter, However, the true mental shift happens once the creature dies and returns. The most pronounced phycological shift is a sense of freedom, their new powers making them unrestricted by the rules or ethics of mortals that bound them in life. Most vampires also get slowly corrupted by these new undead powers, seeing others as tools and food and seeing themselves as superior. Some who had a strong sense of morality manage to cling onto their old moral compass, but most succumb to the power trip and embrace their darker instincts.
