The Fractured Worlds
The Eldritch Gods are a loose collection of gods from other worlds, who managed to survive the destruction of their realities with a shard of it intact. These fractured bits of several worlds are treated as one overarching plane by scholars, though they recognize the individual realms within. From these prisons of their own making, they plot to conquer new worlds and turn them into copies of their old world. This would be bad for any current residents, as many of the worlds these eldritch beings are from worked under different rules of reality. The rules of physics they follow also vary between these eldritch beings, leading to these cosmic beings fighting over any world one of them gets a foothold in. It is not uncommon for a cult to one of these eldritch forces to lead a crusade against a different eldritch god. It is equally common for these crusades to be against demons and their cults. The Eldritch gods have neither forgotten or forgiven Xaryx for the destruction of their worlds. While they seek new worlds to lay claim to, they also despise demons and will do all in their power to destroy them.
While few know about them, and even fewer chose to study them, a handful of these eldritch gods have been identified.
Kraken-A potentially dead eldritch god, Kraken managed to enter the world during the early imperial age. It ravaged the seas for years until it was slain by a powerful legion of merfolk bolstered by many sea giants. They killed Kraken, but during the battle scraps of flesh were sliced or ripped off, which sank to the bottom of the sea and would eventually become the titanic sea monster which bear its name to this day. These children of Kraken continue to wreak havoc upon the seas, holding a special grudge against sea giants due to them being the ones to kill Kraken.
Upalgurith- Little is known of Upalgurith beyond what the mad ramblings of the Upalga have revealed. The people who would become the Upalga found a way to derive magical energy from The Fractured Worlds by siphoning it from eldritch creatures. They built their empire upon this immense magical energy, until they tried to drain Upalgurith. The eldritch god was too strong for them to contain, and those it did not slay were warped and mutated into the Upalga.
