Mossback
Hulking behemoths of the natural world, Mossbacks are named for the living garden they keep on their back. They have formed a somewhat symbiotic relationship with the parasitic Skingripper Moss. The moss usually spreads over creatures like an infection, but due to the immense size of the Mossbacks the moss takes years if not more to fully consume them. Mossbacks use this fact to cultivate the moss, allowing it to grow in limited quantities and eating the rest. By grazing on the moss, it cannot spread fast enough to kill the Mossback. The moss has a constant host, and the Mossback has an easy food source. This extra food especially helps in their arid homes. Mossbacks often make their home in scrublands or savannas, with limited vegetation available. By carrying around Skingripper, they have an emergency food source that can help carry them through long dry seasons. Several other smaller animals also rely on these wandering gardens, though they must be careful they do not get infested with Skingripper.
