While most hydras are dumb, bestial brutes, they are dragons, and thus have great magical potential. Argoli was a hydra who fulfilled this potential, becoming a powerful force of both might and magic. When the secrets of (dragonfolk) had been stolen from Lokamangar, Argoli saw an opportunity. She managed to get her claws on the ritual but made some modifications. Thus spawned the first Lernea, multiheaded reptilian humanoids. They have humanoid torsos, but with serpentine lower bodies and three reptilian heads atop their body. Argoli’s alterations gave her new creations an innate command of magic in addition to their physical strength. After Argoli’s inevitable death, her children began forming their own societies. This also includes a religion worshipping Argoli, and hydras in general by proxy. One of the church’s missions is to help elevate other hydras to the glory of their mother, awakening them beyond their primal state.
