Gorog
Ogres worships a god called Gorog, who is a cross between hercules and an old American folktale figure. Most of his myths involve Gorog having a problem, then solving the problem with liberal application of extreme force. One prime example of this is "Gorog and da Demon King". Gorog was minding his own business, eating a giant monster he'd just killed, when the ground opened up and The Demon King came out to steal his food. Gorog responded by grabbing some of the monster's bones and beating the demon king with them, driving him back underground. Gorog wasn't done yet though: Gorog dug his way through the earth with his bare hands until he reached hell. There he smashed a thousand demons into pulp before reaching the demon king's home. He knocked the door down and beat the demon up until it begged for him to stop. Gorog then reclaimed his stolen food, climbed out of hell, and continued his feast.
Another is "Gorog makes Night", where the sun keeps beating down on an overheated Gorog, so he decides to fight it. He starts by throwing a mountain at the sun, but it dodges, incidentally creating tides as the ripples from the mountain landing in the ocean. After several more attempts, he realizes he needs to get up there. So, Gorog makes a crude catapult out of bent trees, then launches himself at the sun, grabbing it and punching it into submission. The sun agrees to stop beating down for a while, and thus the first night was created.
Gorog's adventures are a beloved part of their storytelling tradition, with ogres making up new stories as a pastime. There is very little canon in these myths, allowing anyone to add to it. Gorog beating a dragon to death with another dragon, Gorog accidentally releasing an ancient evil only to break it in half with his bare hands, Gorog eating an entire castle of elves including the stone, anything that portrays him as extremely powerful.
Gorog’s domain is surprising to those who first learn of it, but makes perfect sense upon reflection. His domain is made entirely of food. Maple syrup rivers, rock candy crystals poking out of the ground like trees, cotton candy clouds, crispy bacon vines in the forests and more. Even the rocks are edible: they’re chocolate. Ogre who are good followers of Gorog are invited to feast for all eternity. Being a god who loves fighting, there are also plenty of violent creatures to beat up and eat.
While primarily an ogre god, nothing stops other races from worshipping him. His non ogre worshippers share his values of being big and strong. Berserkers often fit this description, making them natural followers of Gorog.
Tenets of Faith
Gorog's main command to his followers is to be strong and take what they want. He is "Might makes Right" given physical form. He also promotes two other virtues: eating and fighting. Gorog loves to eat, and so he has filled his realm with tasty treats. He also demands food from his followers, who leave the food on ritual altars, then set it on fire to make it "extra crispy for Gorog!" He also loves fighting, which he sees as a test to prove who is stronger. One of the ways priests of Gorog prove their faith is a boxing match, where the first ogre to knock the other one unconscious is seen as favored by Gorog.
