Burn Droid

A mechanical monster designed to reduce everything around it to ash, Burn Droids can be powerful weapons. Burn Droids are roughly humanoid constructs with large glass tanks on their backs. These tanks hold an alchemical incendiary, which the droids spray out of a hose in their left arm. Their right arm ends in a grasping claw, meant as a hand but still able to deliver a heavy punch. They rarely resort to that though, blasting anything that they don’t like with liquid fire. These tanks are both the droid’s greatest strength and greatest weakness, as if struck hard enough the tank could burst, causing a massive explosion that destroys the droid and badly burns everything around it.

Utility

Burn Droids, as their name implies, are mostly valued for their capability to spew flames. While they have their non violent uses, like burning garbage or clearing brush, a walking flamethrower has plenty of combat application. Most burn droids are used for destructive purposes like burning enemy soldiers. They are often placed separate from other soldiers however, due to the massive fireball that erupts from them when they get too damaged.

Manufacturing

Burn droids are among the simpler constructs, but they have multiple steps in their creation. The first is to construct the body, which can be tricky but is straightforward enough. The body is mostly metal, but there are a few glass components as well, like the eye lens and the fuel tank. The second step is to brew the incendiary fluid, which must be done carefully to avoid the whole building going up in flame. The third step is to animate the construct, using arcane runes inscribed inside the body during the creation. Once the golem is activated, the tank must be filled and the droid is tested. The construct is put through a short testing regiment to ensure that it won't explode upon firing or leak incendiary or anything else that could be a defect.

Access & Availability

The Guild of Exotic Requisitions are well known for making and selling Burn Droids, as well as employing them as guardians. They are also known to be made by a handful of other factories, including one in Valorport, but the GoER are the best known suppliers.
