Upper Dura

Physically and economically, Upper Dura has little in common with the slums and tenements that lie below it. The upper towers were erected over the past few centuries, and the stonework reflects the prosperity of Breland and the city. If the ward is not as fancy or prestigious as Central Plateau or Northedge, at least the streets are clean and in good repair. However, while many of the people of Upper Dura are successful merchants or crafters, there is a seedy edge to the ward. Beggars can be found throughout the ward, flaunting their afflictions and misfortunes in hopes of earning pity and coppers. Dreamlily dens and other forms of high-class crime can be found in the shadows. The people are comfortable with strangers and others of questionable character—so adventurers are made welcome.   This ward is full of life, home to talented artisans and successful merchants. There’s a seedy edge to Upper Dura, and in general it has the qualities of a middle ward. But it’s a place that welcomes all manner of suspicious customers... which makes it a haven for adventurers. Clifftop is a home away from home for explorers and mercenaries. The Sharn Watch maintains a fortress garrison in Daggerwatch. The Highhold district is an upscale dwarven neighborhood; it’s said that the strongest spirits in Sharn are served at Morragin’s Tavern. Hope’s Peak is a temple district, notable for the Citadel of the Sun. Dedicated to Dol Arrah, this church is considered to be a true bastion of light. Finally, the Overlook district is home to most of the kalashtar in Sharn.

Demographics

Social Class: Middle class (2 lower class districts)
Character: Crowded and bustling. This is not a wealthy ward, but the people are surviving, and some are clearly doing quite well for themselves. While there are a few upscale businesses, the merchants are clearly used to dealing with adventurers and others of questionable character.

Industry & Trade

Businesses: Upscale if a bit on the worn side, with more shops catering to adventurers than in most other districts; gold piece limit: 40,000 gp

Infrastructure

Districts: Garrison, temple district, shops (2), apartment homes (2), dwarf neighborhood, average residences, adventurer’s quarter

Hi Freewolf   I'm not sure if you have completely finished this article Upper Dura, but I have just a few pointers.   1-have a little re-read,you could change the wording in places, adding things etc, maybe a little more information on why so many beggars in the more wealthy section.   2-you have put a population yet?,Businesses or residences?,a GP limit like the others.   3-this needs doing the most-The Key People reads altogether, not enough spacing and some brackets missing,it's just one long list, gave me brain ache, lol.   I hope I haven't offended or seem to picky,I enjoyed reading overall.i really only comment when I find room for improvement or spelling mistakes etc affect a good article.   I've added you to my following list. I have also never read much about the Eberron setting or played DnD in that world.i have seen a few articles on world anvil about Eberron,it makes me want to buy the new books coming out,and the previous editions..   All the best   Aemon.

Hey Aemon,   Still learning Worldanvil and just noticed your comment.   At the moment I am just trying to get some of the data in. I plan on cleaning it up and adding to it.   Yes the Key personalities needs the biggest clean-up. Eberron originally came out with the 3.5 version of D&D. And most notably I am converting my version of Eberron for use with Savage Worlds, so the stat blocks are going to change completely. I am leaving the originals in for now till I can get to articles for the actual personalities.   Thanks for the comments.
