Striking Day is a theory of the Republic Forum's failure, where majority factions declare minority factions terrorist and illegal, banning them from participation, until only one remained. Upon this day, those fears proved plausible.

It began with the People's Coalition, a lukewarm movement that desired incremental change whilst being cool enough not to be painted as allies of the Vox Populi. Then it moved to the Astral Coalition. And further.   The only Coalitions that remained were those loyal to the Duke, and any motion against the Duke or his followers was simply not scheduled for a vote by the Duke, who was placed in power by Golryon and therefore beholden to him.   At the same time, the flying towers of Dinlirys begin raining arcane ordinance down upon areas of the city ripe with dissidents, with only marginal aiming. The city is overcome with war, and the dogs of war are let free with summoned extra-dimensional warriors and the Iron Syndicate alike.
