The Pillars in the Sky

We have come from Avernus, the God-King and the Beast Below. We cannot deny that we were created by the Demon-Lord who spawned murder, war, plague, and the like, but we can conquer that Beast within ourselves and use it not for carnage and pursuits of the flesh, but for glory, and effulgence for our Empire... For the Lord Seeker, and your Emperor. Long may we reign.

--The Emperor of Shyr, at the founding of The Second Jeriec Empire in 40 AB.

The Sun. The Moon. The Stars. The Sky.   Together, these are the Pillars of identity and mortality within the peoples of Jeria, they are the Pillars that hold up the Empire, and therefore the world itself.   From the Sun, the Light. The watchful gaze of Simon is the Story, and through the telling of that Story, time passes. It inspires Civilization and the Man to complement the Beast, and in the light of the day, crops may be grown, and beasts may be fought. Fire is a weaker form of Light, as light is the purest form of effulgence.   From the Moon, the Beast. The pure mystery of the silvery Moon, always crossing the sky to follow Simon, gives the Beasts power, to balance the Man. It's moonlight is sacred, but also respected for it's feral power. It is said to be a massive block of true ice, where the power of the cold comes from.   From the Sky, the Wisdom. The Wise know that the Man and the Beast will be forever in conflict, but it is through constant struggle and fighting that one may conquer the Beast and use the Man to further the Empire. It is through this that the Second Jeriec Empire has never fallen to endless warring, such as the turmoil of the First, which could hardly be called an Empire, due to nearly always having at least two Emperors, sometimes a dozen.   From the Stars, the Soul. All things have a Soul, which come from the Stars in the heavens, and will return to the Stars upon death. From this comes all Divine Inspiration, the spark of life that becomes new ideas and forms change in the world.   The Pillars teach the follower that any motif can be mortally wounded, and any fact of the world can be changed, even the formerly infested lands of Jeria may be conquered and turned into the most powerful bastion of civilization in the world. All they require, is one to understand that the world exists through their interaction with it, and one is truly alive through their actions... that they are defined by their actions and nothing more.
