Azata in Sartova | World Anvil

Azata

From Asphodia, The New World, come these extra-dimensional entities...

Manifestations of freedom-kindly celestials with a penchant for curious exploration, spontaneous revelry, and whimsical quests. Fiecely loyal and passionate, Azatas act quickly and directly against fiendish or otherworldly influences. They stay out of mortal affairs entirely, allowing them the ultimate freedom to choose their own destiny.   Each type of Azata is a faction of rule upon Asphodia, which cherishes a different type of Freedom above all, and has a kingdom devoted to it, which occasionally war, but usually not for long. Citizens can move between them all, and change form, as any kingdom can only be an exemplar of one perfect freedom, but not them all, as all single freedoms will infringe on other sorts of freedoms in order to create the purest version of their own.   Many have strange titles that are points of pride, not of station, whichoften make little sense to mortals, such as "Who made the shot across the Sea of Fallen Ghosts", or "Singer of One Million Hymns".   IN AETERNUM. AD INFINITUM.

The Warden Manifesto, by Scribe-Warden Demetrius, in 723 AB.
