The Arian's curse

In ancient times, a magical well sat alone on the plains of Ayara, surrounded by fierce creatures. This well is told to grant wishes, or curses, to those who found it. The Elves created a monastery around the site, saying it was and entrance to the afterlife, through which the spirits of their fathers journeyed after death. These were forcibly evicted by some humans in 480, and the humans sought to use the well to grant them power.   The common folk around this well today say that is possessed those first few humans, cursing them to serve its evil whims forever, and using them to eventually take the entire world under its influence. The wizards who originally took the well and built the Arian are rumored to still be alive, and controlling the Wizardry from the dark depths of its underground labyrinth, ancient, cursed, and hungry...

Summary

The Arian well is said to bless those who revere it, and curse/use those who would try to exploit it.
