Personal history

The Good Prince, the True King. Thus are the titles of Prince Earlton, the greatest casualty of the Great war. Born in 481, two years before his grandfather's (Marothsa the 12th) death, the prince was the third son of King Marothsa (13th).   Prince Earlton was sent to the Royal Academy of Billsbrille at the age of 12, where he formed strong, opinionated character and many useful skills. He was an impulsive, extremely bright child. His teachers (those who could stand him) loved him and enjoyed his extreme determination. Those who couldn't stand his many faults were frustrated by his stubbornness, absent-minded manner, and tendency to care for things only when he could directly see the results of his work.   His training ended in the year 499, and he was assigned as 'diplomat to the wizardry' after a brief stint in his father's palace. This time disgusted him, as the palace was a pit of corrupt and lazy politicians, and his own siblings and parents failed to meet the lowest standards for morals he never saw his father again, nor his mother. The prince was officially disinherited from the royal family after a great scandal at these meetings, where the prince lost his temper, and disgusted at the double-dealing self-centered habits of the Wizardry, denounced the lot of them, and attempted to disband the group. Centerpoint was soon founded in defiance to his orders. This fact is not well known.   The prince regretted his actions immensely, and spent the time of his exile in Hobbiton. He was invited there by one of his old tutors, and stayed there until his Father's death. In this time he learned patience, and how to live a quite life, two skills he had always highly valued and never been able to learn. He also learned of his mother's death here, she had contracted hobbit fever.   After his father's death, Prince Earlton was one of three main contenders for the throne of Saramoth, along with his half brother Eric, the crown prince, who already bore the name of their forefathers. Prince Earlton sailed back to Billsbrille, and traveled to Capitol. He there met with the nobles and his brother Hadar, Marothsa (14th) being away gathering support in Centerpoint. He there learned of the delicate state of the kingdom, and decided to contend for the kingship after discovering several murdered officials, and mystery concerning his father's death. He is believed that King Marothsa (13th) was assassinated by one of his sons.   Prince Earlton's then traveled to Kazaram, and recruited the Dwarves to his following. They had trusted him all his life, and they had been reprimanded many times at school for his loud opinion on their situation, even mentioning once that King Marothsa the First was wrong to give the Goblins so much of the Dwarves native land. The Prince rallied an army of Dwarves, and traveled to Enchilla.   Here, he peacefully took the city, and evicted (rather than imprison) all members of the nobility that would not support him for the throne. Upon learning of his brother, King Marothsa's massing armies, he promptly sent emissaries to the Wizardry, the Goblins, the Hobbits, and his brothers. His brother's killed emissaries sent to their allies, and the Hobbit-bound diplomat took to far to long to be of any use.   Part of the Dwarvish army was sent to las siege to Sternham, a major trade route and location of robber-baron like oppression against the Dwarves. Prince Earlton led the united armies of men and Dwarves against Zeyph, attempting to control 2 of the three mountain passes into the southern kingdom. He was met with staunch resistance, an army of goblins that launched hit-and-run attacks on the army, and triggered landslides against them. But Prince Marothsa's army had taken the southern route, via Sil, and was trying to rendezvous with the Wizardry in Centerpoint. Prince Earlton led most of his armies in an attempt to cut them off, and met his half brother in pitched battle. His army, diminished by a long, fast march and constant harassment, were all but overwhelmed. The arrival of Wizardry 'Tenuem' forces, the enemy army seemed many times larger than life. But Prince Earlton led a heroic charge into the center of these phantom forces, being badly wounded, but ensuring eventual victory.   While on his death bed, Prince Earlton was visited by his cousin Hadar, who had been send by the Wizardry in an attempt to kill him. His brother, seeing his terminal condition did not attempt to kill him, and they grieved together over all that was lost. He convinced Hadar to take the throne for himself, and attempt to restore their families honor. (Hadar later failed.)   He then died of his wounds, but not before the arrival of an entourage from Hobbiton. His greatest joy in life was that even these peaceful people answered his call to war.
