Remal (RHE MAL)
the Unbowed, the Steel-scaled Remal
Remal is the Mij'esian divine of power and might, and alternately embodies both the masculine and feminine in Yuan-ti culture. She personifies force, power, and cunning, as to the Yuan-ti there is little distinction between a well used blade and a well cast spell.
In contrast to her younger brother, Barruj, Remal's expression of power is something personal and unique to each mortal. Like all Mijesian gods, her followers are to avoid excessive strength as well as weakness, for balance in all things is required in life. As a child of Throndar she is the most worshiped of the serpent gods outside of Mi'jes.

Personal history
After the forging of the first yuan-ti, the goddess, Shivad'ress is said to have found her children too weak for this world. She sought out the most powerful of the gods, Throndar, and offered herself to him. Throndar at first rejected the serpent goddess, but the crafty goddess had her handmaid tell the warrior god that her mistress did not not think he was her equal in bed. Incensed, Throndar gave chase as Shivad'ress spend away on her golden chariot. It is said when, Throndar finally captured the elusive goddess, their passion lasted entire months before the two divines were spent. Fristborn of their affair was the goddess Remal.

Legends say that Remal will only lay with those who can best her in some way. Male or female, the goddess chooses only the best to gift her divine bloodline, but many claim to have been descended from her in the Age of Myth.

Motivation
As a goddess, Remal seems to show especially little concern for her followers. Her main motivation seem to be to find new challenges, and then surpass them. While she is exceeding clever, this at times makes her motivations appear as simplistic as her sister, Volst.
