Dylean I
King Dylean, I
One of the most well known figures of the age of myth (mostly for his creation of the Dywdian Calendar which is used today throughout Sanzeia) Dylean I was one of the elven horselords of the Lamazian Steppes. His tale varies highly according to source, but either he was driven from his family territory by a conflict of succession or he set prove himself by founding Dywd within the Almhylean Forest. His reign lasted three and a half centuries, until is death in 302DR. Though the calendar was by far his most lasting achievement, many of the elves of the region claim a wide variety of other accomplishments by their semi-mythical ancestor such as the invention of aqueducts, crop rotation, and at least two forms of poetry, among other things.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Sources conflict here, some paint the king as wise, intellectual, and wanting to better all of Sanzeia. Others give Dylean very human motivations about insuring he will be remembered in the face of his family and rivals.
Reign
Dylean I ruled the kingdom of Dywd from its founding in 67BT until his death in 302DR. Though the city has declined and rebuilt multiple times over the last 1000 years, and by all evidence a direct royal line has died out or been forgotten, many of the leaders of the city claim some decent from the city's founder.
