The Carlyle Expedition
An event which received news coverage via Reuters in 1919 and 1920. At the time the events were not of much personal interest to the investigators. However, after receiving a Telegram Sent to Dr. Musgrove by their good friend Jackson Elias the investigators took a second look at the events. Other than some basic information available in Newspaper Clippings about the Carlyle Expedition, the incident did not appear to be the kind of thing which would interest their author friend.
Still, they answered the summons to New York City to meet with Jackson. Sadly their friend was brutally slain prior to that meeting. Soon after the investigators received The Final Statement of Jackson Elias at the reading of his will. The final request of their fallen comrade, to take up his incomplete investigation into this ill fated expedition.

Public Agenda
The expedition's intent was to discover and explore ancient tombs of Egypt.
Rumors abounded that the group was actually searching for Biblical treasures.
History
The party left New York City in April 1919 for Southampton. Once in England, they relocated to London in order to conduct research at the Penhew Foundation. The educational hiatus was expected to last around one month.
After this the expedition made its way to Cairo, Egypt and established a dig site. Little information is provided as the events in Egypt, other than Roger falling ill due to heat. The party decided a recreational safari was in order to relax, so they journeyed onward to Kenya in July. After arriving at Mombasa they traveled inland to Nairobi to begin a safari in August.
Two months later authorities officially declared the expedition missing.
Disbandment
Erica Carlyle arrived in Kenya in March of 1920, determined to locate her brother. By May, authorities determined the entire party was slaughtered by Nandi tribesmen. The corpses left in the wilderness. All five tribesmen were executed for their crimes.
All members of the party were declared dead.
